or yousef keeping everyone awake by letting their tents down and poking them with sticks

I didn't let any tents down! That was Fat Mike, and Fat Mike did pretty much all of the poking aswell. I just sat and laughed... Well I may be guilty of poking at a few silhouettes I must admit..

It was quite disturbing how people reacted actually (but I shouldn't fuckin' be surprised!)..

Fat mike is just about the best name I have ever heard.

He refers to himself and encourages us to call him Fat Mike and he makes jokes about his 'man boobs'.... Otherwise I probably wouldn't refer to him as Fat Mike, Cause that would be nasty!

top tracks of the weekend:

the futureheads - decent days and nights(if only for the mass "woo" near the end' date=' though hounds of love was great as well)[/b']

queens of the stone age - no one knows

audioslave - killing in the name

new order - love will tear us apart (a good run through, and the closest i'll ever get to seeing joy division do it)

green day - basket case

interpol - evil

there was loads of great songs though and those were just the ones i could think of just now.

It really was a massive woo. So glad i seen them instead of the killers

Queens of the Stone Age - Go With The Flow

The Coral - Dreaming Of You

The Subways - Rock and Roll Queen

Audioslave - Cochise

Ian Brown - I Wanna Be Adored (first song and only one without wailing feedback, before he fucked it all up)

Highlights:

The Subways - Oh Yeah

The Futureheads - Decent Days and Nights

Maximo Park - Graffiti (what was up with the front man with his Nazi salutes and military style of talking?)

The Duke Spirit - Quite impressive, I'll keep my eyes out for them

Razorlight - Wow

Lows:

James Brown - Half an hour late, followed by a 15 min introduction. He then launches into 2 awful songs. I left and went to see the Foo's, was so gutted about leaving but I knew I wouldn't enjoy it had I stayed.

Kaiser Chiefs - Thought they were really bad, could barely hear them and the music sounded hollow.

Wish i'd been able to see (damn clashes):

Interpol, Super Furries, Killers, Magic Numbers and Prodigy

Couldn't get in the tent for the Magic Numbers which was a shame, liked what I heard though and they seemed to be enjoying it.

One band I saw at the T Break stage (it was either The Blue Van, Red Serpent something or the Paddingtons - around when Snoop Dogg was on) were all right. They were Danish and trying a bit too hard to please the crowd (dedicating a song to haggis?!) They had a 15 minute last song (last 10 minutes just going wild on the guitars) and really looked to be enjoying it.

Ruined it at the end by saying they were meeting with Pete Waterman later in the week though.

Whaa...."We are Maximo Paaark, from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and we will be playin' some pop rock songs for you today"

Very National Socialist.... :help:

yea the wait for james brown was ridiculous. don't agree about the songs being awful though, what were you expecting? he always has a massive introduction and the first two songs were pretty good(i also left early but only to see new order). hell he was even bustin some good moves and that's not bad going for a man of 70+ and was playing some good keyboard too. the band were in fine fettle too with some awesome sax action and great stage theatrics. looked like it was shaping up to be a great show.

Did you see one single complete set?!!

My mate was wanting to go and see as many bands as possible, i couldn't be arsed though and lost him at some point. I really don't see the point in doing it. You make the bands you really want to see a priority then have a wonder when your not fussed about seeing anything, thats how i saw the paddingtons, i was really impressed with them as well.

yes i did, fightstar, desth from above 1979, maximo park, ordinary boys, magic numbers, el presidente, foo fighters, departure, black velvets, razorlight, snoop dogg, bloc party and the others, its all about being prepared and not spending half your time arsing about.

I still managed to get fucked out my face as we all carried 2 litre water bottles filled with vodka n lemonade. And there was only about 2 gigs where i was myself, having 17 of us probably helped.

Can u not just wait and see the paddingtons in aberdeen?

fuck that, it's about having a good time and if that means taking it easy and and doing fuck all for long periods of time then wandering off to find a band that's not bad then that's how i'm gonna do it. sod running from stage to stage every two minutes trying to catch as many bands as possible and planning a military style operation. too much like hard work. :)

Its nae exactly hard plus i only left half the bands to see other bands coz they were shite, the killers, greenday, kaiser chiefs to name but a few, and i never ran once, its nae hard to look at the set times and wander over to another stage.

There was only a couple of bands who i only heard a few songs, i wud rather stumble over to the main stage for 20 minutes than sit in a tent for half an hour waiting on sum1 to come on, you can still have a laugh and get drunk while watching a band, in fact our funniest times were dancing to bands, i bet half you ppl didnt have as much fun as we all did

...

I went to see very little on the Saturday and fuck all (worth mentioning) on the Sunday (deliberetly caught a bit of the Prodigy). Sat in the sun most of the day and laughed at the fact that there were soooo many acts playing that I should see, but didn't care!

I did see 'The Very' as I mentioned esle where and, wow!

I would never pay to go to T in The Park though! Too old for that much hard work!

(meant light heartedly)

Jim

ps

I will add that I am now feeling deep remorse that I didn't pay more attention to the listings!

;(:dunce:
