Swingin' Ryan
14. Rilo Kiley - More AdventurousI was sure that was out last year, but either way that's my choice as I haven't been listening to much new music. However, I agree there's been a lot more good music out this year so far than there was last year.

Metarie
Dresden Dolls was out before christmas too, I bought it end of Novembar, but good choice all the same.I haven't bought that many new albums, I've been working on catching up with some older bands I've just discovered, as a result I've only got 5 albums that have been released this year.Brenden Benson - Alternative to LoveSystem of a Down - MezmerizeThe White Stripes - Get Behind Me SatanAimee Mann - The Forgotten ArmTom McRae - All Maps WelcomeSo far, so groovy. There's still a few more I'm waiting to come out, but I reckon it's been a good year, especially for my 'pet' bands.

Doc Ascension
Bruce Dickinson - Tyranny Of Souls (Brilliant' date=' Bruce has outdone himself again)[b']HammerFall - Chapter V (Decent, but a bit samey. Could have been better)So far...and am eagerly awaiting Helloween - Keeper of the Seven Keys Part III , as Helloween are probably my favourite metal band, and in my top 3 all-time favourite bands! Bruce Dickinson easily the best album of the year so far... (bear in mind Demons & Wizards and Stratovarius have new releases coming)But, alas, Hammerfall's latest offering was, well, shit to be honest! Crimson Thunder was a great album, but Chapter V seems totally weak and "forced". It's like they have nothing left and just threw together some random leftovers... shame really because everything they have done uptil now is really awesome. Rab
Wind in the Wires - Patrick Wolf..is just about all I care about. Oh, and the Maximo Park album. Haven't bought too much new music recently.
Time Machine
I think the Doves album is a corker, with 'Black And White Town' being my single of '05 so far. The Coral album's great, as is the Oasis record. Haven't bought British Sea Power yet, just the 'Please Stand Up' single, but by all acccounts, that's ace as well! Scott Schmuk
Dissapointments of the yearMars Volta - Frances the muteReally? I would say that's one of my favourites from this year, if not all time. What didn't you like about it? Apart from the 6 minutes of traffic perhaps... Also liked...Team Sleep - Team Sleep Q.O.T.S.A. - Lullabies To Paralyze (Twas a real grower, although not as good as Songs For The Deaf.)I'm not sure, I just realised how many old albums I've bought this year. Few that just missed out from last year, Infinity Land, Futures....

Swingin' Ryan
Futureheads - whatever the fuck its called - should be called - yet another attempt to rip off XTC/Gang of Four done really shit by wankersExactly! I keep hearing people calling Bloc Party or the Futureheads "totally original". They're both just a direct Gang of Four rip-off, if they re-recorded 'Damaged Goods' by Gang of Four, no-one would bat an eyelid and it would be heiled as their best song.Revolting.
