Tav
What's an Explorer style guitar like to play sitting down?
Chris
probably easier than standing up. like the look of them but I really don't like the feel. The one I played just wanted to point at my feet all the time.
spellchecker
actually, i found it a lot harder to play sitting down. i had an epiphone explorer around 10 years ago, and because of the stumpy bit above the fretboard (as opposed to a round bit or a hooky bit like on a strat), it kept sliding down my body. it was quite a fun guitar, a nice metallic red. nice for a first electric anyway. bryn
the gibson explorer i played was fucking nails. cant comment on the sitting down aspect - i stood up ;/
M.A.R.T
its much the same as playing a strat...well the underside is....depends on where you hold your strumming hand when you play.i always found mine comfortable standing and sitting.you just have to get used to there being a big chunk missing out the top and more on the tail....but i liked it. Monk Rocker
It's fine to play sitting down.....
Dan G
I have a Gibson explorer, and it is the best guitar I have ever played both sitting down or standing up. When stading up it also never tilts and stays EXACTLY where it is.I'm not biased either, as I own quite a few guitars and have played a lot more too. It genuinely kicks ass. Tav
good cause I would quite like one and I spend most of my time sitting down playing.
Mouse
That's good then because I plan on owning an explorer before I die. If I die by accident, someone buy me one and put it in my coffin!

bryn
"yeah but not exactly a guitar suited to playing seated."seriously man, its brilliant for seated. Because you sit in the classical position, in this case one spike over your leg, one under, its real easy to get right up the neck. You should def try one out!
