Tav
Firstly, it has a body refinish in blond nitro.Re-finish and not only that it's been done improperly...there's no way I'd pay the asking price for it.

Tav
It's not original...it's had work done...badly!
David
for the date of it i would have expectied it to be worth more than it is going for, even with the few 'upgraded' parts, an all origonal one would go for much much moreDavid
Mouse
The price so far is reasonable imo

Tav
Refinish takes of value...especially if it hasn't been done right like in that example.

Tav
Blond Nitro is a grand finish, nothing wrong with it at all.
Mouse
Its at least 52 years old in parts, what more could you want?!
Leckie Gilman
what does blonde nitro look like?
Tav
Blonde...nitro is just the clear coating on top. Looks good when applied properly though prone to wear...rubber guitar stands for example will destroy a nitro finish.
Leckie Gilman
fit?so its a natural finish?but isnt fender blonde that yellow colour?im well confused now man.
Tav
It's "that yellow" colour
GraemeC
the "nitro" bit stands for nitro cellulose.....which is the chemical make up of the paint....its the finish used on most "top end" guitars to this day...The nice thing about it is, it wears and fades gracefully, unlike modern finishes which never wear and when chipped look horrible... Tav
At least you can put a modern one on any surface without fear of disolving the finish though.

Tav
It might be important to some. Personal preference I guess. I love an old Start, Tele or LP with an aged finished...like Mike McCreedy's from Pearl Jam...what a nice looking strat.
