Guest Scott 5FD
i'm looking for a long guitar strap, so that my bass will hang low, much like Sid Vicious and Dee Dee Ramone had theirs, but i can't find any that are long enough.they all seem to be a standard size in R&B and Bruce Millers don't seem to have any.any ideas where i can get one from? Tav
Did you ask in RandB, they have XXL and XL too as Elliot was showing me some a while back. I am sure Leckie of Gillman Street knows a thing or two about long straps...
David
yeah, rnb have a few long onestry and look for ones for bass, i think they tend to be longer than guitar ones (even though they are technically the same)David
Graham
I did get a really long one from R&B not that long ago. At full length the guitars at your knees.
Guest Scott 5FD
don't they tend to cost more tho?i don't want to shell out heaps for what is only really a bit of material.about 15 to 20 is the absolute maximum.
Tav
Ok get a cheap strap and some thickish thread <shoe lace> and put it through the hole on the strap and around the strap pin on your bass? Dunno why people insist on having their guitar at insanely low levels all it's doing is making it harder to play, possibly damaging your back and wrists... Tav
No it doesn't...I mean low slung to a degree is cool...<James Hetfield>. I suppose everyone has their idea of what looks cool I am just pointing out that wearing it REALLY low down adversly affects your playing and can lead to possible health problems. Leckie Gilman
heh my strap is a XXL levy's. i can't find another one as long as it though. i wanted 2 for each of my guitars so i could put like permanent strap locks on em but no. and it's not a cosmetic thing i actually play better there. bryn
long punk rock straps look shit but when jimmy page has his guitar at his knees it dusnt. no stand, maybe its the les paul rather than the tom delonge strat covered in stickers
Leckie Gilman
hey bryn, actually it's my LES-PAUL (what page uses) that's covered in stickers leaving my fat-strat (a better version of the tom delonge strat heh) stickerless.so don't try that move please.
