I've not been impressed with anything of theirs after the first album...Holy Folk Matthew O'Leary sustained a raging chubby when he first heard it, so draw from that what you will! More of a shift back towards their early sound than a progression from the last album. If I wanted to use the Jesus And Mary Chain comparisons, I would say that while the first album had shades of 'Darklands' era JAMC, this one reminded me of 'Honey's Dead' times. I don't seem to get tired of them at all.I've also just bought:Kayo Dot- Dowsing Anemone With Copper Tongue'Whatever You Love, You Are' was the first one I bought by them about 8 years ago when I lived in Edinburgh and I was instantly smitten, managed to get 'Ocean Songs' in Avalanche but had to import their earlier albums 'Sad And Dangerous', Dirty Three' and 'Horse Stories' from Amazon. I've noticed their earlier albums can be bought on Amazon relatively cheap nowadays, they tend to be more discordant and a bit less melancholy than the material they have released since 'Ocean Songs'.
