I guess there's only so far gimmicky 'crossover' thrash can go. There were signs of losing the plot on Art Of Partying. Far too much cock rock. Not enough blastbeats.

Personally i love the Tango and thrash ep just for the roughness of it.

Hazardous mutation and art of partying are also great though.

Massive Aggressive .... Nit!

Just got the new Noah and the Whale album 'First Days of Spring'. It's fantastic. I thought the first album was good, but I was a bit worried they'd do a Peter, Bjorn and John and just be remembered for one quirky folkish-Pop song that was on the telly a lot.

This album is a different thing altogether, it's got bits of Beirut and Sufjan Stevens, the string parts in particular are stunning. They've made a

to go along with it but I just bought the album-only version, I might splash out for the film based on the strength of the album.

Couple cheap goodies from Oxfam -

Trainwreck Riders ~ Lonely Road Revisited

The Reindeer Section ~ Son of Evil Reindeer

After a binge of later period Lemonheads combined with cheaper than usual Amazon prices-

Lemonheads ~ Creator/Lick/Lovey

Evan Dando ~ Baby I'm Bored

And as a treat to get away from a mixed bag collection of knackered tapes/vinyl/CD's and altogether missing albums-

The Beatles in Mono Box Set

The Beatles ~ Abbey Road
