  1. Does anyone recall the late and largely unlamented He's Dead Jim, Aberdeen's self-professed 'fifth best garage band' of the early 1980s? In their day, they played venues such as The Union, The Crombie Hall, Edinburgh Art School, survived an attempted prosecution for 'noise pollution', and amassed a mighty catalogue of pop classics, almost totally obscured by lo-fi recording, musical incompetence and the power of the Big Muff fuzz pedal. They were young, handsome, loud and grim. I should know, I was one of them. They are featured on the album Messthetics #105 http://amzn.to/2HKoGXy You can listen to their legacy here: https://hesdeadjim1.bandcamp.com/ You can even purchase their should-have-been greatest hits here: http://www.hyped2death.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=178
