  1. Maybe try the college / uni's media departments. My work has used them in the past to make promotional videos, as the students can use it as part of their coursework. Dunno who you would contact though?!?
  2. Am-4 is sold bluescrab sold (pending collection) still have: Boss EQ shimverb bluesbraker is available again due to a timewaster.
  3. Think Wagamama is where II used to be and II is now across the courtyard from attic or next door to nandos, accessed from the courtyard.
  4. Thought I would bump this with my weekend experience: I was looking to check if a pedal I'm selling actually still works as I couldn't get it to come on with batteries and my power supplies did not fit (bloody Line 6!!) So, took it to imported Instruments and although very helpful they didn't have a suitable power supply. They did tell me that yamaha had just bought Line 6 and that they are trying to become an authorised dealer. Anyway I meandered down to R&B, who I know have taken a bit of stick at times on here, and even though I told them I had no intention of purchasing a power supply, that I only wanted to test the pedal was working they happily gave me 5 minutes of their time to find the right supply and test for me. They also helpfully wrote down the particulars of the power supply and sent me on my way with a cheery goodbye. Thumbs up for R&B.
  5. Wee bump on these TU-2 is gone. Bluesbraker is provisionally gone as is the AM-4 and bluescrab. Will listen to offered on the shimverb and EQ.
  6. getting it over the weekend.

  9. Oops. Never been the most observant!! But yeah great site. Think I'll go and read the original post again!!!
  10. Really bored at work this afternoon so I had a quick look at theory sites and came across this http://www.musictheory.net there are a few free exercises on recognizing notes, chords, intervals etc. Only just started playing around with it but thought I'd share it. It will fill 5 minutes if nothing else.
  11. While studying music I used sibelius for this. You could write in tab, or play using a midi keyboard and it would notate as you went. You could also painstakingly input midi notes one by one if you couldn't play the keyboard. I'm sure there are more user friendly versions available now as I studied music 11 years ago now.
  12. As title suggests I'm after a good multi effects I can plug straight into computer and PA, preferably a Line 6 HD or a digitech RP500 type. Cheers Kev
  13. I'm sure when I got the kilts for my wedding, Slaters required about a weeks notice as they didn't stock the hire kilts in the store. They came up from a central warehouse on a certain day of the week. That was in 2011 so may have changed now but I'm sure they will advise you if it's still the case. Also in the past I've found some places neglect to tell you about having to purchase the socks and or shirt until youve basivally finished which can bump up the cost of hire if you're not bold enough to kindly tell them where to shove it after taking up their time to get measured etc. I'm sure it was the one on school hill where that happened to me
  14. My main goal this year is to get the Nashville Number System nailed. I've got the basics of it down and find it really useful when someone pulls a last minute key change to what the chord sheet provided says. But there is a lot to learn in terms of symbols used for developing the basic numbering system. The year is still young though so plenty of time. I guess I'd feel I have achieved my goal if I can write chord sheets using the system only, and that others who use it can read them properly. That along with being 100% confident in putting my new found knowledge to full use in the company of other more experienced users of the system. My second goal is to get to grips with my lap steel as I've neglected it recently, removing the sparkies tape with the chords scribbled on it along the side of the fret board is first then developing more little licks to accompany the song and I'll be happy enough. Finally as others have mentioned getting out and jamming with new musicians and seeing what I can learn from them, so if anyone is ever arranging a jam let me know!
  15. Do local music shops not do trade in on gear Anymore? Surely the trade in value of a tsl and 4x12 wouldn't be far off, if not cover the cost of nice wee fender combo. I traded a couple of guitars and amps at R&B back in the day.
  16. I'm looking to swap a 19 u heavy duty flight case. The front, back and lid are removable, making it easily accessible. There are holes drilled in the base for wheels but these have been removed as its been static since I acquired it. It has been used to house a monitor set up of amps, eq's, splitters, snake and mixer but we are moving to in ears so don't need so much space now. I am looking for either one or multiple cases in exchange that will give me a total between 6 and 10U of space, doesn't need to be heavy duty I would consider lighter cases as long as I can mount the equipment. Let me know if you have anything cheers Kev

  20. Cheers Frosty, I'll give him a shout. Sad news about Mike I never realized, he was a stand up bloke.
  21. I have a vintage Tama Royalstar kit kicking around in my folks loft that I've bee told to dispose of, so I'm after someone who can help me date, identify and put a fair price on all the bits and bobs associated with it. I know there used to be a guy at Bruce Millers who knew his stuff on drums, he went on to open a shop on Holburn street for a bit too. I want to say his name was Mike but I'm good at making up names so cant be sure. Its someone like that I'm looking for that can help me figure out if its worth trying to sell all or bits of the kit. As far as I'm aware it is a 7 piece with hardware and cymbals but I'll have to check that everything is there. So if anyone can put me in touch with somebody then that would be great Cheers Kev
