  6. The "Multimedia Monster" artwork was done by Richard Lock of Devolution Designs: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Devolution-Designs/171312626250336 His portfolio is very impressive and he did that cover in one draft after I told him what I was looking for. He is very good at apocalyptic themes and that's why I chose him for this piece. Other artwork and credits can be found at: http://gordonduthie.com/fr_images
  7. Some details about the follow-up album being released this summer: http://bandweblogs.com/blog/2013/04/09/gordon-duthie-multimedia-monster
  8. Unfortunately there won't be a video online as I just did a regular hangout which doesn't record the session. I found out that you can't open up the actual hangout to the public if it's streaming on YouTube and you have to invite people individually to participate. I would be willing to do another one of these again in the future if I can get at least five committed hangout attendees beforehand (would have to know their Google+ name to invite them). The hangout I did was enjoyable though and it was good to play a couple of songs to a live audience, although it's a shame I couldn't stream it live on YouTube and have a recording of it afterwards on my channel which would have opened it up to a wider audience.
  9. Please note that the hangout starts at 19:30 BST (not GMT as previously stated), someone pointed this out elsewhere and this has revealed my complete ignorance of seasonal time zones!
  10. "An Evening with Gordon Duthie" will take place TONIGHT at 19:30 GMT and will last between an hour and hour and a half. Please add me on Google+ and send me a message on there if you wish to attend the hangout. Five out of ten places have already been taken and the rest will be allocated on a first come-first serve basis. The session will also be streamed live on my YouTube channel and those watching can send questions and comments here or through any of my social media pages. The evening will include a couple of live performances, a Q&A session and general discussion about the issues surrounding Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Scotland. All participants will also be entered into a raffle to win a limited edition signed and numbered physical copy of "Shire and City".
  11. Yes, I will also be monitoring Twitter and Facebook. An excellent feature of the live stream on YouTube is that there is a comments box next to the video, so anything entered into that goes straight to me in the Hangout.
  12. Yes you can stream Google+ hangouts live on YouTube, there are so many great tools out there now for musicians to broadcast their work and reach a wider audience. The internet music revolution has been pretty good to those outside the mainstream, it has opened doors that would have been slammed shut in our face when the large record companies controlled how music was distributed and broadcast.
  13. "An Evening with Gordon Duthie" will take place on Sunday 23rd of September 2012 at 19:30 GMT and will last between an hour and hour and a half. Please add me on Google+ and send me a message on there if you wish to attend the hangout. Five out of ten places have already been taken and the rest will be allocated on a first come-first serve basis. The session will also be streamed live on my YouTube channel on the night and those watching can send questions and comments here or through any of my social media pages. The evening will include a couple of live performances, a Q&A session and general discussion about the issues surrounding Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Scotland. All participants will also be entered into a raffle to win a limited edition signed and numbered physical copy of "Shire and City".
  14. For everyone interested in "An Evening with Gordon Duthie", I was thinking about having it on a Sunday night in the foreseeable future at 7.30pm lasting for a about an hour to an hour and a half. Can those who are attending please advise which Sunday is best for you? Thanks.
  15. Eupraxia, there will be another 95 limited edition numbered and signed Digipack copies of "Shire and City" available to buy soon at: http://www.gordonduthie.com/music
  16. I'm glad everyone has a different opinion on the album and music in general. The great thing about music and art is that it can be perceived in so many different ways. How boring would the world be if everyone liked the same thing? I guess the ultimate frustration in the music world is the popularity of manufactured pop over alternative artists who put their heart and soul into what they do, but that's what makes alternative music great. You can find something that really strikes a chord with you personally and you can treasure it closer than any mass marketed music which is often impersonal and formulated. It's great hearing music that was made for an artistic rather than financial reason, it really stimulates the mind, body and soul. From day one of starting this project I knew that it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea, but I'm proud of what I have achieved and I'm also happy to hear that other people have enjoyed various elements of the project. MilnerD, thanks for listening and I appreciate your acknowledgement of the effort put in over the project's lifetime.
  17. Paime, I will also reserve a space for you, as I said it's first come-first serve and I appreciate your interest in the project. I will get an agenda together soon and a date finalised. Was thinking a Sunday night, just because most people are free at that time? I don't think I'll be releasing a Vinyl version any time soon, but it's something I wouldn't rule out in the future.
  18. Flights, I will be streaming the hangout from my home studio, but I can give you a priority slot to be one of those who are part of the actual hangout rather than spectating. My audio engineer is currently producing a Red Book standard master CD, not sure when I will get it though as he is very busy. The artwork is all set-up though, so it should be released about a week after I get the master CD. A couple of t-shirts and a poster will also be available in the next few weeks, we have been working on this for a while.
  19. Ten people can participate in the actual Google+ hangout, so I guess it would be on a first come-first serve basis to be part of that. If the hangout is full, others can watch the session live on YouTube or Google+. I would take questions from those outside the hangout on Google+, Twitter and Facebook. At the moment there are no plans to write up any tabs as I am busy producing the next album but if you want to know any chords for specific songs, give me a shout.
