Aye im wrong, sorry. Hendo was the pen taker, Sturridge was telling him he should of insisted that Balo followed Rodgers instructions. 

I get that Balo scored and all is good, but the point is the manager gives out the team instructions, if he has said he wants player X taking a pen, unless that player gives it up to another willingly ( and hendo didnt seem happy last night) then it becomes an issue. Managers run the team, not the players on the pitch. 

I think Sturridge was the one at fault there because he made it clear to everyone that there was a problem with who would take the penalty.  If he'd just let Henderson and Balotelli get on with it then I don't think it would have been anything like the same issue.  As far as I can tell Henderson was nominated to take the penalties and was captain but Balotelli persuaded Henderson to let him take it, which was a good decision because, even if he's not great at much else, he's good at penalties.  Nominated penalty taker and captain decides to let someone else take a penalty = non-issue, as far as I'm concerned.

 

I think Gerrard was also a bit out of order for his criticism of Balotelli.  He was trying to stick up for Henderson but actually undermined him by saying he was wrong to decide to let Balotelli take it.

No, Sturridge is the designated pen taker, Henderson was the captain. Henderson stepped in to remind Balo that Sturridge was the one who should be taking the pen and Balo refused to give him the ball, so Henderson and Sturridge walked away to prevent a fight on the field. 

There was only one person in the wrong and it was Balo, as usual, it all has to be about him and not the team. 

Good on Celtic last night, brilliant night to promote Scottish football, full stadium that was rocking, great game of attacking football from both teams, no one has any right to have a go at Celtic after last night, they did us all proud. Hopefully they do the job over in Italy, although it will be very tough with three away goals against them.

I had a busy weekend but ill be on this during the week. 

Yeah i dont really get the hate of Goodwillie tbh. He is a class player, great first touch and has a good footballing mind. He gets frustrated when others dont see the pass he can see, but thats a good thing, if he wasnt bothered then we would be much worse off. He is never going to be a 20 goals a season striker, but he offers a hell of a lot in his build up play. Rooney is a better finisher but id say Goodwillie was the better overall player. Still, its two great options upfront for a club like ours. 

I think the description of the Brian McGee sounding like a demo is the best description yet. It really does sound like a demo tape rather than a release. 

Yeah i was a fan of Nick and Nora as well, good wee film.

He apparently was also a bit of a problem for the dons. Not always turning up to training and a few other things, sounds like we are best shot of him. 

Yeah its strange both players would have been desperate to move, knowing they would miss a cup final. 

Strange day for the dons as well, where the hell did we come up with money for a new player from? I'm guessing one of the board has bought him. I really thought it ment Jack being sold as well. Surely summer for him leaving now? 

Who was the backline vs St Johnston?  Assumed Considine would be at CB, but who played LB?

Logan - Reynolds - Considine - Hayes

Not really a great back line, too many left footers. They also had Reynolds on the right side which seemed to really put him off.

I'd like to see the new guy start. Considine is a great guy but he is extremely limited imo and cumbersome. Taylor offers so much more in terms of his overall play. Hayes is not a left back either, he can do the job, but he left too many gaps against St Johnstone and with Considine beside him we were quite exposed to quick attacks.

The defender comment still stands, hope the new guy plays and isnt up to speed.  Otherwise your defence is way better than ours and that could be the difference.

Aye your right, our backline looked shacky against St Johnstone, losing Taylor seems to have been a big blow. No idea what the new guy is like yet.

PC boffins. My laptop is amassing an enormous amount of temporary files. I ran CCleaner for the first time in 2 or 3 weeks at the weekend, and it got rid of 180GB of temp files. It took over 24 hours to run. I'm running CCleaner on a daily basis now, and it's getting rid of over 1.5GB of temp files per day, and it takes over an hour to run. I used to just run it once every fortnight or so, and it would take about 10 minutes, with nowhere near that amount of temporary files. How do I find out what's clogging everything up?

Installed anything new recently? 180GB of temp files is insane.

Yeah i couldnt name a record from the last 6 months, id maybe even struggle 12 months such is my insular music listening tastes. 

Yeah Phil was a player in his day, albeit not a world class one, he is awful to listen too tho.

It concedes quite a lot of goals, but I'm always scoring more, so fuck balance. Goals. I seem to be winning every game 4-2 and 5-3.

 

Drmic and De Bruyne just keep getting better ever week. Drmic is pretty lousy if he gets the ball anywhere on the pitch outside of the penalty area, but if he gets it infront of goal, then it's a goal. Always. No misses.

 

Ricardo Rodriguez seems to be pretty much the best left back in the game after one season. Pjanic too. The Bosnian Iniesta. Bosniesta.

 

The Drmic Damage:

 

8 points clear of Dortmund at the top. I've not lost since September. I've also had ridiculous luck with injuries, as in, I've had pretty much zero significant injuries. If Drmic or De Bruyne get crocked, then it's over. My other strikers are BAS DOST and Lord Bendtner, the latter has played zero minutes this season, because he is garbage.
