  1. I really like it. It's fast, I can't do fast- so I admire folk that can. I also like those precise squalls of feedback. I don't drive but this makes me walk quick. plus, mainly because I'm a twit I'm going to use "validate me" as a song title.
  2. I really want one of these gadgets- I think it will really let me get the best of my two guitar amps, imagine a Peavey and a Laney! Together, wow!
  3. been there done that, not happening again! unless they play a flying V.
  4. Dammit! I just watched a video on the harmonist. that's the bugger!
  5. I was pondering what kind of guitar pedal would really suit Sidca. I really want that doubled up Thin Lizzy guitar solo sound. Like in Whisky in the jar. So I'm bidding on a 10 quid Beghringer super octave pedal. No expense spared round my house....
  6. Y U P ----S K I! totes agree. we were ropey when we recorded this. Better performance may help. I'm going to continue to self record and invest. Hopefully it will eventually yield good results. I'm stumped about recording studios that would get us- maybe who ever records Fat Goth would be guid. We'll keep at it, and aye I usually Boss O/drive the bass- just got lazy. Would be easier to have a bass player! more soon. G.A.S will know doubt occur. cheers to all for pitching in....all comments appreciated. ps. sebadoh...ah yess!
  7. Cheers min. Hopefully next time I'll get a bit better. I forgot how much it is just working in the dark recording your own band. Like I mentioned before I'm going to try and add snare and kick mic's to the condenser/Quite close to the kit mic- either on one channel or two tracks. Dunno. I think the clipping is me on facebook while mixing, my usb soundcard thing can't handle it. Jacket song I've grown to like, best song I wrote since "Angel Wings" I reckon, just cracks me up!
  8. Next time we have a Loft weekend I'm going to try and figure out how to do the same again and mic Darren's snare and kick through my shitty Phonic mixer- I know how to get two channels out of it but it's supposed to do four. I'll work it out eventually....cheers for the feedback though min.
  9. First time I "mixed" it I was using my top of the range ALDI P.C speakers, second time AKG headphones. I can't really say either helped...
  10. I mixed it again. sounds a wee bit better. soundcloud.com/davidjamesfarquhar/30-12-12-tape-2-mix-second-go
  11. I love this site, all this feedback has really helped me get to grips with a second mix!
  12. I likes it. The drums are mair in the mix this time. I have nae idea about this kind of music though- keep it up minz.
  13. what mic's did you use on the drums out of interest?
  14. it's like Husker DU. Nae a bad thing. mair tunes pliss chaps.
  15. Here's a SIDCA thing. I wish I still had my old 16 track mixing desk, but what the heck. 4-track cassette etc. "Smell my finger" may well turn into "Spot on Buddy". soundcloud.com/davidjamesfarquhar/s-i-d-c-a-30-12-12-loft-4 Any thoughts are welcome. WOW that soundcloud thing works.... Here are my fairly boring ramblings on the recording thing....hope to get better next time...
  16. coming back to music Ian? .....I hope so....
  17. It sounds like the Libertines. I like the Vocals, the music is boring. You boys have nae excuse, quality bands fae Dundee- Ghosts of Progress, Alamos, Fat Goth, Gerils, Maps of jupiter etc. Get mair interesting...the accents are fine.
  18. nae bother min. Cheers for dropping the link, I forgot. this guy is great fun- his wee film on animal mutilations is fascinating to the open minded. 9/11 was a false flag operation by the way.
  19. I want to bring the UK's best talker about UFO's, The new world order and shit like like to Aberdeen. I think he's ace. Anyone fancy it? Support from my cousin who knows stuff. just trying to see if folk would be interested. Expand yo' minds y'all.
  20. last couple of weddings I went to had bands playing, i was expecting a DJ. They were aright, some of it was a bit tributized-ish though. They were good at doing the likes of roxette and all that muck- but when they tackled the white stripes and the strokes it sounded kinda whack. I'm shit at learning songs though- so respect to the folk that do it.
  21. Had a great time. put some ghosts to rest. Movin' on. Like that bird in lord of the rings we will go north and diminish...except we won't. we're going back out to Huntly to get better. Infamous blog.
  22. gaps have opened. we are now a going concern, albeit on a kinda slack play only good gigs only/art events/house shows type way. I really want to add a versatile proper musician to go with bass drums and guitar/vox. ideally you should be open minded and musical- ability to play guitar/keyboard and mess with all that stuff I don't understand- midi, laptop, glitch and stuff. Girl or boy, would be better 30's ish and grumpy. I'm acting like Mark E Smith here...so that's a hint. Ability to respond to wav. files / mp3 files randomly e-mailed with bizarre guidance notes also a plus. Davidjamesfarquhar AT btinternet.com or PM on here. Peace. I mean, COOL.
