Mark has built up a following through his melancholic and moving acoustic songs and we're pleased he'll be joining us to promote the release of his new album A Good Way To Bury Bad News.   7. Local band Suburban Saints launch their debut album with us in association with Young Bull. Suburban Saints is a 4 piece Indie/Pop band from the North East of Scotland. Combining energetic pop and Indie rock they create a brand of music everyone can enjoy. The current line up consists of Jamie Mackie, David Temple, Chris Sutherland and Rhys Jones. The band came together in September of 2011. Following on from the success of their debut South African Tour, the band are preparing to release their debut album "Stuck On Repeat" on the 1st of Feb. Described as "Emotionally gripping" by Mojo and "Dazzling and deeply moving" by Uncut, RM Hubbert was the 2013 winner of the Scottish Album of the Year Award and we're pleased to be welcoming him to The Lemon Tree in February. He is a prolific live performer and on top of his own shows has supported Mogwai, The Twighlight Sad, Franz Ferdinand and King Creosote.   9. As part of our Freshly Squeezed season of shows we are pleased to host an evening of great up and coming bands at The Lemon Tree. Federation of the Disco Pimp are are great funk band who are sure to get you dancing. Having released their debut album in 2012 they have entertained fans since and are certainly not a band to be missed. Kagoule only emerged recently but have turned heads and gained attention of XFM and Radio 1.   10. Lindi Ortega visits The Lemon Tree this month to promote her new album Tin Star. The Candian singer-songwriter now lives in Nashville and her time there has influenced her third album with well crafted folk songs.   11. John Smith is the guitar man from Devon who has quietly become one of the most exciting voices on the new British folk scene. Touring relentlessly as headliner and support act, he has opened shows for John Martyn, Iron and Wine, Seth Lakeman, Davy Graham, John Renbourn, David Gray, Cara Dillon, James Yorkston, Martin Carthy, Jools Holland, Tinariwen, Martin Simpson, Gil Scott-Heron and Chris Thile. John is a regular on the UK festival circuit, having played shows at Glastonbury, Green Man, Cambridge and many others. Guitar legend Gary Lucas visits The Lemon Tree this Sunday to talk about his new book detailing his time with Jeff Buckley along with other artsits he's collborated with such as Captain Beefheart, Lou Reed and Nick Cave.   13. Danceable indie-pop band from the north east of England visit The Lemon Tree next month. This is a great chance to see a new up and coming band. Having impressed at The Great Escape we're pleased to be getting them now as they breakthrough. Having supported acts such as The Sunshine Underground and Dog is Dead they have been receiving favourable reviews and plenty of airplay.   15. Alabama 3 takes in The Lemon Tree as part of their Woke Up This Morning tour. Mixing rock, dance, gospel, blues and spoken word the band always put on an interesting live show and are well known for their stage personas. Their tracks are popular among films and TV shows so expect to hear plenty songs you recognise in a show that will take in hits new and old.   16. Having played a blinder a couple of years ago we're pleased to be welcoming We Are The In Crowd back to The Lemon Tree. A great young band with a lively stage presence they have supported All Time Low and Mayday Parade and always have a busy touring schedule.   17. Two great up and coming Scottish bands visit The Lemon Tree this August. Three Blind Wolves and Washington Irving head out on a joint headline tour and take in Aberdeen as part of this. Three Blind Wolves have had a great year having released their debut album Sing Hallelujah for the Old Machine, toured with Frightened Rabbit (anyone who was at the Music Hall will have witnessed how good they were!) and Wintersleep and have secured festival gigs at T in the Park, The Wickerman and Belladrum. Well worth it for the harmonies alone. Having also toured with Frightened Rabbit and released debut album Palomides: Volume 1, Washington Irving are a band certainly on the up.
