Adem has announced details of his first solo album of original material for nine years, seconds are acorns, released October 16th on his own Label Oneiric via Caroline. Founding member of pioneering post-rock band Fridge alongside Four Tet’s Kieran Hebden and one half of Silver Columns with Johnny Lynch aka The Pictish Trail, Adem has released three previous solo albums; Homesongs (2004), Love And Other Planets (2006), and 2008’s alternative covers album Takes. Following the disbandment of The Delgados in 2005, the band Emma co-founded with her three fellow Chemikal Underground starter-uppers (Paul Savage, Alun Woodward, Stewart Henderson), Emma released her solo debut ‘Watch The Fireworks’ on 4AD. Returning to Chemikal for her next solo outing ‘The Law of Large Numbers‘ in 2010, Emma picked up more plaudits and acclaim for her unique brand of lavishly lyrical songwriting. Then? Well, stints developing the Fruit Tree Foundation alongside Idlewild’s Rod Jones and playing a central role in The Burns Unit (who performed on Later…With Jools Holland) proved more than a little diverting since it’s been five and a half years since we had a new body of work. Their upbeat, indie folk music pulled together the romping folk-pop of Mumford & Sons and the Lumineers, while the layered instrumentation took inspiration from the likes of Arcade Fire and Broken Social Scene. They released their song "Brother's Boat" digitally before their first single, "Upon the North," appeared in 2013. Later that year they were invited to open for Paramore on their U.K. tour, where they played at a sold-out Wembley Arena. Off the back of being announced as one of The Libertines support acts and named 4th in the BBC Sound of 2016, Blossoms come to Aberdeen on their latest tour. Blossoms have toured extensively across the UK, with excursions into Europe. They followed their sold out 2014 autumn tour with another run of headline shows in February and March. The five piece will also head to US and Japan before the end of April. Min Diesel are a guitar-led three-piece from the north-east of Scotland, who shamelessly plunder the best bits from their favourite late-80s/early-90s punk, lo-fi and math-rock bands' back-catalogues to create music they've taken great amusement from dubbing "min-die rock". Over the last year, London-based East India Youth has combined strikingly original music with euphoric live performances and has quickly become recognised as one of the most experimental and captivating artists around. Pronto Mama are a past post-modern bug-eyed beatnik group from Glasgow who are just as confused as anyone else. They are soulful. They believe irreverent wordplay, clean musicianship and a dirty dedication to song-writing is how you do it. The music is built around the songs written by Marc Rooney and Ciaran McEneny, who in coughing copy-cat fashion opted for McEneny/Rooney. Keeping it alphabetical preserves good feeling and the over-arching idea you have of yourself, maybe. The opening act of the inaugural True North Festival comes to The Lemon Tree with Fatherson. Fatherson are a band based in Glasgow and formed in Kilmarnock. They have been making waves in the Scottish music scene following a string of supports with bands such as Frightened Rabbit, Panic! at the Disco, Feeder, Twin Atlantic and Idlewild. Following the inclusion of a song on BBC Radio 1's Introducing playlist, the band performed on the BBC Introducing stage at T in the Park where their set was aired on BBC2. Gaining experience through further festival appearances during the summer culminated in a trip to America for an industry showcase, laying the foundations there for the future. Late Night at the Lemon Tree with Inspector Tapehead, The Great Bear and Ricky Fraser Inspector Tapehead formed in 2008 when Chris Croasdale enlisted Roy Shearer and Jonnie Common to help perform some songs he'd been writing. Due to some confusion over who would be playing what, those formative rehearsals found the trio in the unlikely arrangement of nylon-string guitar/vocals (Chris), drums/glock/vocals (Roy), and synth/samples/vocals (Jonnie). Their debut album Duress Code, released to mild acclaim on the Song, by Toad label in 2010. The band played a short but successful tour (now with additional synth parts being played by Chris' feet) to promote the album and then swiftly put the whole project on ice by moving as far away from each other as they could manage whilst still remaining in Scotland. Nature, however, finds a way. Before long the band started meeting up several times a year to work on new songs that Chris had been whittling out of scotch mist in his highland hideyhole. Once they had returned to match fitness, they recorded album no.2 over two short spells in the studio and took another week or so to mix it. The result is So Solar, which they are very pleased to announce will be released by Glint Recordings in late summer. Fresh from appearing at the Commonwealth Games closing ceremony, Prides play The Lemon Tree as part of their latest tour. Prides formed in 2013 out of the ashes of several local bands. The boys signed to Island Records when two of the members were in a band called Midnight Lion. Stewart Brock sings and play keyboards, Callum Wiseman plays guitar, keys and sings and Lewis Gardiner plays drums and is the band's producer. After a summer of playing dozens of festivals overseas, from the tiny Loopallu to the massive Reading and Leeds, and finding themselves on BBC Radio 1, Prides will made their U.S. debut at this year's CMJ Music Marathon. Esperi is Scottish multi-instrumentalist Chris James Marr. His music ranges from acoustic storytelling to colourful electronica looping and combining different sounds with his acoustic guitar. He uses a host of instruments from the conventional to the unusual including his signature rainbow-coloured bells, toys, tools and samples. His follow up to his debut "In a moment emotion sentiment" entitled "Seasons" is out now. Including 11 new songs and it features the single "Somersaults" which was released on the day his son Callum was born including a sample of his heartbeat as the pulse behind the song. Two sonic stallions from the Moshi Moshi stable canter around the counties, for a seasonal co-headline tour. Lyrical singer-songshapers, Stephen Black, and Johnny Lynch (Sweet Baboo and Pictish Trail, respectively), both know the power of collaboration.Lynch invited Black up to the island to help him record his latest Pictish opus, Secret Soundz Vol.2 - which was very recently given a full nationwide release, alongside Vol.1, by London taste-makers Moshi Moshi. For this special advent tour, the pair are reunited for a fortnight of song-swapping, thigh-slapping and local-ale gargling; expect folk-tinged winter hymns, lo-fi audio wizardry and sweet Eigg-nog kisses under the casio.
