  1. Jungle Nation Benny Page (Digital Soundboy/High Culture) Dj Tez G-Reg ... Mc Darkrider Sat 1st Dec 2012 Origin, Windmill Brae Aberdeen 11pm - 3am Tickets £8 available from One Up and www.skiddle.com Early Bird Tickets £7 http://www.skiddle.com/whats-on/Aberdeen/Origin/Jungle-Nation-wBenny-Page-%28Digital-Soundboy%29/11746112/ Heavily inspired by the bass lines of dub music, ragga jungle and Hip Hop a Benny page Production does not go unheard in today’s ever changing bass music culture. Over the last decade his music has seen airplay on major radio stations such as BBC Radio 1, 1xtra, Kiss FM, Choice FM and Rinse FM etc. He has also played a definitive role in shaping the sounds of the UK’s drum and bass movement. His name has become synonymous with tight production, heavyweight dance-floor tracks and clinical mixing skills. Storming onto the scene with his 2006 anthem ‘Turn Down The Lights’ he has gone on to release a slew of seminal ragga jungle cuts, as well as numerous well received productions across the dance music spectrum. Having cut his teeth in to Shy Fx’s Digital Soundboy imprint, he has collaborated with some of the most exciting producers and vocalists in the industry. From his crucial remix of Gyptian’s ‘Hold You’ to his work with the likes of Mc Spyda and Topcat he has taken his brand of dubwise dnb to audiences across the globe. With Remix work under his belt for major record companies such as Sony, Universal and London Records to name a few he has been able to work with major artists like Jessie J, Tinnie Tempah, Misha B, Arlisa & Nas and has established himself as an internationally acclaimed artist. With sights set firmly on the future it’s all about his very own label High Culture Recordings. Exemplifying Benny’s ability to move effortlessly through the different sounds of UK bass music, much of the labels output so far has been refreshingly diverse. Tracks such as ‘Raggamuffin’, ‘Stamina’ and ‘What Must I Do’ draw influence from the current UK funky, house and dubstep movements, while the latest release ‘Top Rank Skank’ sees a return to classic Benny Page with its bouncy reggae backing track and huge vocals from the one Mr Williamz who is another artist to watch out for on High Culture. 2. Transit w/ Dub Phizix Support from residents: Dj Tee Lo Profile Early Bird Tickets £7 ... Standard Tickets £8 Tickets available www.skiddle.com/events/11738726/ tickets also available from One Up Find Flyers for drinks deals!! www.facebook.com/TransitClubNight www.transitclubnight.com www.cluborigin.com ------------------------------------- Manchester based Drum and Bass producer Dub Phizix began his obsession with music over 20 years ago. Inspired along the way by a diverse collection of artists ranging from The Yardbirds to A Tribe Called Quest, through to Photek and Bugz in the Attic. Dub Phizix, (or George to his mum) would spend hours annoying his neighbours with a Guitar, a Tape Deck and his Dad's collection of 7" Records and in 2000 made their lives even harder when he began making Drum and Bass. 10 years into his career of music construction and Dub Phizix is an accomplished producer having made music in a variety of styles for MTV, BBC, Nokia and 4Music. Dub Phizix has released music on high profile and respected labels such as Exit, Commercial Suicide, Soul:R, Critical, Dispatch and Ingredients with Mixmag calling his music 'Essential material' 2011 has seen the total domination of the Drum and Bass scene from a tune called 'Marka'. Penned by Dub Phizix alongside regular collaborator Skeptical with guest vocals from Strategy (of Broken English), 'Marka' adhered to no known recent stylistic formulas. A rare vocal treat in Drum and Bass, 'Marka' marries staccato dancehall like rhythms with slamming bass hits and Strategys unintelligible but potent rhymes blast this off kilter anthem into other worlds. True underground Drum and Bass in 2011 will be remembered for the impact 'Marka' has had on this music. Dub Phizix has also collaborated with Future Cut, Marcus Intalex, Loxy, MC DRS, and Stray and has remixed for Panjabi MC, Skittles and Chimpo. His music is played nightly by high profile DJs such as dBridge, Goldie, Marky, Fabio, Marcus Intalex, S.P.Y, Spectrasoul and many more. Dub Phizix DJ sets have been in high demand throughout the UK and Europe including guest performances at high profile club nights like Fabric, A Bunch of Cuts, Soul:ution, Exit Records and Hospitality. Although he may be a fresh face to many, Dub Phizix' DJ sets always display his depth of knowledge of what makes a great Drum and Bass tune, mixing up often neglected classics with the freshest upfront material available to anyone. His sought after guest mixes for Kmag, DnBtv, Example Magazine and Broken Audio have caused a stir across drum and bass forums in the last year. Dub Phizix has much anticipated releases in the coming months on Exit Records, Creative Source, Commercial Suicide, Innerground, Samurai Music and more. 2011 may be the year that the world truly discovered Dub Phizix, but 2012 is set to be the year he reaches his full potential and blazes an innovative trail across the history of Drum and Bass music www.facebook.com/dubphizix http://www.dubphizix.com/ http://soundcloud.com/dubphizix
  3. Bass Storm Garage/UKG/4x4/Bassline Dj Q (Q Recordings/BBC 1Xtra/You Wot) Bones & Money (Acid Thunder) ... Ch£ap Date (Acid Thunder) Squelchy (EDM/Strictly) Sat 10th Nov 2012 Origin, Windmill Brae Aberdeen 11pm - 3am Tickets £7 available from One Up/Skiddle.com Early Bird tickets £6 available here: http://www.skiddle.com/whats-on/Aberdeen/Origin/Bass-Storm/11743118/ DJ Q’s musical journey started from a young age listening to music played by his parents. It was at the age of 12 when Q first got involved with the UK Garage scene, buying vinyls and tape packs. When his vinyl collection grew larger Q finally got a pair of record decks in his bedroom. After teaching himself to mix Q started to get bookings at local parties at the age of 15. Q's break came was when he was invited on as a guest on one of the UKG shows to showcase a few of the songs he produced. While at the station he dropped off a mix CD, and was later asked to host a show on one of the UK's leading radio stations. Q Joined 1xtra in 2004 as a DJ to host the UKG Mixshow, being the youngest DJ at the station he brought a new energy and sound to the airwaves. It was around the same time Q released his first vinyl, 'Love Like This (The Reasons)' which was a big hit on the Bassline scene. This was followed by 'Tea Bag', 'Dirty' and later 'You Wot!' Which was signed and released via Ministry of Sound. 2008 saw Q hit mainstream success with remix credits to his name such as Amy Winehouse, Dizzy Rascal, H20 feat Platnum, Keri Hilson and Katy B to name a few. Q has also remixed and worked with the likes of Rusko, Toddla T & Shola Ama, Boy Better Know. 7. Jungle Nation Dub Zero (Formation/Easy Records) Dj Tez (Jungle Nation/Origin Beats) Dj Davy (Jungle Nation) G-Reg (Jungle Nation/Strictly) Hosted by Mc Darkrider (Jungle Nation) Saturday 6th October 2012 Origin, Windmill Brae Aberdeen 11pm - 3am Entry £7 With an enduring involvement in music from his early school days and a grounding in the piano, drums and guitar, one could say the writing was on the wall for Dub Zero as a successful artist after his nomination for ‘Best Young Musician in Kent’ aged 12. Initially more of a DJ but ever aware of the pressure to produce in order to make progress in Drum & Bass, early experiments in studio software like Fruityloops began as a hobby but soon progressed to something more serious and in 2007, his first release ‘Power Gurn’ surged straight to number 1 in the Nu Urban distribution charts. Further productions included ‘Ganja Plant’ on Concept Records, ‘Shadow of Death’ on XS Records and ‘Nightmare’ on the mighty Formation; in time, he found himself on the end of a call from Kenny Ken who commissioned him to remix his classic track ‘Murder You’. Following further releases on Formation and Biological Beats, Dub Zero caught the attention of DJ Phantasy who has since gone some way to push him further in the scene. High profile linkups with Harry Shotta and Skibadee emerged in the time since, his diverse studio skills commissioned for production work on their Hip-Hop and Dubstep tracks which have in turn been supported by the likes of Caspa, Trolley Snatcha, Funtcase and Crissy Criss. Diversity always the key, his sights are presently set on completing a selection of Liquid Funk tracks alongside a collaboration with MC Spyda and if that wasn’t enough, a live project and LP are pencilled in. www.facebook.com/dubzero187 www.twitter.com/dubzerouk www.soundcloud.com/dubzero187

  10. I have a well looked after, good condition Dean VN1 electric guitar for sale. It has a mahogany body, maple bolt on neck construction, a rosewood fretboard, dual humbuckers, 3-way pickup selector, tone/volume controls and a string-through design on the body. This guitar is probably best suited to metal and blues playing due to its scooped mids and heavy bass response... although this is not what i used it for. It worked well with the neck pick up and high trebs to give a more indie, jangly type sound. I bought the guitar for 350 from Bruce Millars less than 4 years ago. It has never left my room and until recently has been regularly restrung, waxed and lemon oiled. It has one small chip on the very tip of the neck above the tuning pegs which has been there since purchase. A beautiful well looked after guitar perfect for a serious beginner or intermediate level player. I will also include a Marshall MG15CD amplifier. Would be looking for offers in the region of 200 for both... what with the price of the guitar and the amp being about 100 this is a very good deal.
  11. 200ish and ill throw in a marshall mg15cd amplifier. i realise this is a long time ago now but just came back round to selling it. apologies for not getting in touch. forgot i had this until i googled the make of the guitar to get a picture of it.
