Ryan, if you did all that in your bedroom I am fucking blown away. That is bloody brilliant.
-
I think they're worth putting on myself.
-
It's not bad, but the songs themselves don't blow me away. I feel like there's a lot going on in places but to no real enjoyable effect. It makes me increasingly suspicious that the band value clever ditty dippy doopy bits on their guitars and keyboards more than they value actual melodies or hooks. Have NME said anything on this band?
-
What sort of stuff do you write about lyrically?
-
The first one doesn't really grab me (I don't like the melody at all) but the second one is quite catchy, it could do with being sung with more conviction. There's a very slight warbley thing in the vocals that doesn't appeal to me, if it's not intentional it's probably caused by the vocalist singing within himself rather than projecting his voice. Overall it sounds like Belle and Sebastian and the Divine Comedy are having a nice cup of morning tea and toast around the kitchen table with Ben Folds Five. Tired comparisons probably but there you go.

You're so right it's painful. What annoys me is that as soon as anything even remotely creative occurs some talentless hack in an advertising agency steals the idea to show the world what it would look like if it had corporate millions thrown at it while simultaneously sucking all the life out of it. I can't stand hacks. (For more information on hacks please refer to Michael McIntyre above) That whole open topped bus fiasco is one of a few guilty adverts where a group of talentless tools get together to from a "band" and pretend to play instruments while smiling like gormless idiots. There's that one where at the end the girl asks down the phone "How did it sound?" Well.. fucking shit is the answer. These adverts always equate being a musician with a Karaoke performer.

Hmm. Don't remember that one... I don't like the one with all the talentless tools singing in Trafalgar Square.

Appearing soon at a war tribunal near you.

Let's guess! I think their material is somewhere between lo-fi indie-pop and arty folk, but with no clear sense of musical direction in its current embryonic state.

I think that's a loss to the forums

Simply terrible

Was my first time downstairs in Korova this Friday and it was the first time since the very earliest days of Moshulu that I felt Aberdeen had a rock night worthy of the name. Well done to everyone involved.

I think a lot of the 'real' women on Union Street would be a lot more attractive to me if they had a penis between their legs, especially if it was mine.

I saw an article in mystyle magazine just the other day titled, "Can Real Women Rock Lady Gaga's look?" I wish people would stop bringing up that whole is she/isn't he thing.

Willie Knight, plays in Hedgehog Pie?

I think Ben would make a decent contribution to these forums so I hope he's allowed to stay.

The fact she's used "This I Love" by Guns N Roses actually made me want to listen to Chinese Democracy all over again, and I didn't think anything could accomplish that. My favourite thing about this thread is the views to comments ratio. 323 views and 2 replies. Plenty of people looking, but no one fessin up to it. Haha. Booya! -
A few folk have been caught for having affairs on it. They call that "Second Life Actions - Real Life Consequences". I downloaded it once, walked about the thing for around 5 minutes, then deleted it.

I made a short playlist: Robert's Spotify playlist

Will you still need a set list when your 74?

I was just about to say, "Wow, that's really cool", and then I read the bit about the signed stuff. Now that is REALLY REALLY cool! -
For me, a special album is one which you have a personal connection with. That's why I think it's important to only post a few albums and do so with pictures. Yes, there are many great albums out there but you can't love them all. I just think there's more of an emotional reaction to seeing a picture and for that reason I'm enjoying looking at the images of other people's favourites.

Go:Audio have a few decent pop songs, a pop punk band with nice synths, London accents and a sorta British sensibility in places. The new AFI album is decent too - bit of a departure from their normal style. Very 80s goth-pop-esque with jangly clean guitars and good middle eights.
