I'd be interested in giving this a go. I play alto and soprano sax. Currently play blues and rock/pop but also play jazz (of more modern type), but love Sidney Bechet (cheer myself up by playing 'petit fleur') and Louis Armstrong. I know the genre but have only a very limited experience of playing this style.

We have a bass player and a sax player and are looking for the following: guitarist, drummer, keyboard (samples) player. The plan would be to add a singer when were ready. Want to play modal and groove based music. Originals plus arrangements of songs with a scattering of jazz tunes, e.g. Chic, Aretha Franklin songs, and Jazz : Sugar, Sunny, and even Pharaoh Sanders tunes. Tight arrangements and impro. Were both experienced and we want to play this stuff to a high level. Want to do something fresh and exciting. Looking to get into Captain Toms in August and taking it from there.
