  1. I am trying to gauge how much interest there would be in trying to get someone up to Aberdeen to demo and fit people for custom in-ear monitors. More bands are using these and I think that they will become increasingly popular with the advent of inexpensive personal monitoring solutions such as the Behringer Powerplay P16. Main problem in buying these is that there is no opportunity to try them out which can make the purchase a bit risky. I saw The Custom IEM Company stand at The Bass Guitar Show in London and they have a large selection of demo kits which are versions of custom IEM earphones that allow disposable tips to be used. Trying out these earphones should give a good idea of how the custom version will sound. If there is enough interest, it might be possible to get someone from The Custom IEM company to come to Aberdeen with demo kits and to take impressions of anyone who wants to buy one. Please tell me if this is of interest and if enough people want, I will see if this can be arranged. All the best, Bryan Chalmers
  2. KAB (Keyboards and Bass) will be playing in Musa this Friday at 8 p.m. Lineup is myself on bass and my friend, Paul on keyboards. We played a gig at the Northern Edge jazz festival last year which went well - although the music is improvisational, it probably is not what all people would call jazz. It is ambient and perhaps celticish and maybe a bit jazz like. Apologies, but there are no recordings of us uploaded yet - but I'll get some added to my website as soon as I can. Anyway, I plan do do a couple of numbers on the Chapman Stick which is brave if nothing else. Musa serves food on Friday nights - good food and music, what more could you want? All the best, Bryan Chalmers Bryan Chalmers - Aberdeen Bass
  3. I must say that I agree with the OP. Kevin O'Hara had great delivery and was indeed amazing at the Drummond's open mike night. The duo that preceded him, Zach and Steve, were really good too. It was a pleasant suprise for a Monday night with free admission.
  4. I have recently put my website together and uploaded a few tracks with more to follow as I can find time The tracks can be found at the Bryan Chalmers, Aberdeen Bass website. Most recent upload is a Scottish tune recorded with ceilidh band, Stooshie and previous uploads are Dave Roberts jazz numbers recorded some time ago. The jazz numbers were recorded in my home studio and the Scottish number was recorded at The Mill studio.
