  1. We're right looking forward to this. Feeling a bit left our cos we don't have any ska or reggae elements though. Maybe we'll try skanking while we play or something.
  2. If any of you have a ticket and are looking to maximise enjoyment return on the ample price paid you should come and watch us cut loose! We're playing on saturday at high noon, the traditional cowboy showdown time. This means that there is literally nothing else worth seeing or doing at the same time. Other than lie in a probably flooded tent, shoes as a pillow, the shrieks and whoops of idiots rising to the point where you no longer know if they are actually happening or just voices in your head. The caterwaul of someone playing a Ting-Tings song on an out of tune acoustic guitar for the hundredth time of the weekend drowning out your sobs as you sit alone wondering what exactly it is that you're missing out on that everyone else seems to deem worthy of queueing outside for 3 days in February to shell out a ludicrious ammount of money for despite the fact that the line-up won't be announced for weeks. So yeah... Saturday, Noon. T-break stage. Do it! Cheers. Mike/GF x GONG FEI on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads
  3. I've always reckoned this is down to factors such as railways systems and the like coming into being not too long after the mass colonisation of the US, thus allowing the accents of the various settlers to mingle and become homogenised over time. Most areas of the UK which have been populated since a time when even traveling from Aberdeen to Dundee, for example, would be outwith the ability of the average Joe. Then again it could just be an inabilty to detect subtle differences with an untrained ear.
  4. That's a sexy pair of guitars. I like that they've gotten rid of the wee switches and stuff. They always struck me as irritatingly positioned and kinda pointless. I play a tele' but think that, purely in terms of aesthetics, Jazzmasters / Jaguars / Mustangs are about as good as it gets. These are pretty cool too... http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/hu/thumb/8/86/Fender_Tornado.png/120px-Fender_Tornado.png
  5. That was rare, cheers to everyone who came along. I particularly liked that there was a lass selling shots outside the toilets. Never a finer public service have i seen!
  6. Tonight! I'm Ally McCoist at the prospect
  7. This gig's on my birthday so you are to bring me presents.
  8. Not sure who else is playing yet but i'm sure they'll be just grand. Click the link below to hear us then come to the gig to smell us too. Mike. Pensioner on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads
  9. We're from Dundee, but until recently that qualified us for Grampian television... Mike GONG FEI (Album Tracks Added) on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads
  10. Your practicing options in Dundee are as follows... Stage 2000 S2K :: Stage 2000 Rehearsal Studios, Dundee, Scotland. It costs from 9 - 12 per hour depending on the room and the quality of gear differs substantially between them. Also, the amps advertised aren't guaranteed to be the what you'll find when you get in. Riptide Riptide Music Studios A fiver an hour during the day, 9 on evenings and weekends. The gear's not the greatest but the people are really nice and there's a free pool table. Upstarts http://www.upstartsstudio.co.uk - Home This is a wee bit out of town but the equipment's of the highest calibre and the rooms are pretty good. I think it's around a tenner an hour Seagate Seagate Studio, Dundee This is my personal favourite. It's a tenner an hour and there's a realy nice ampeg bass head. The guitar amps let the side down a bit though and there's only one room so you might have difficulty finding a slot. Hope this is of some help! P.S, I saw Deadloss Superstar about 8 years ago in the old Westie in Dundee and loved them. Was surprised to find they're still on the go and our paths havent crossed again.
  11. Laney TF 800 Guitar Amp Head like fender, marshall on eBay, also Guitar, Amplifiers, Pro Audio Equipment, Musical Instruments (end time 05-May-09 16:55:13 BST) Nice wee starter amp, i've used it live for 3 years and encountered no problems. I'll take 90 for it.
  12. Nah, not heard anything yet. It was a bit of a long shot anyway,
  13. Hullo. We're from the aforementioned city and are currently in the process of organising a wee tour of the provinces for this June. We were hoping to play somewhere in the Aberdeen vacinity on the 12th. If anyone can help us out we'd be eternally grateful and'll sort something out for Dundee in return. All line-ups/locations considered! Cheers. Mike/Gong Fei GONG FEI (Album Tracks Added) on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads
