  1. Hello all 2 X GLADYS KNIGHT TITO JACKSON ABERDEEN 20TH OCT AECC on eBay (end time 19-Oct-09 22:27:45 BST) Due to unforseen circumstances I am unable to go to this gig, however I have seen Gladys perform in Vegas and it will definitely be a brilliant gig. This is her farewell tour so it will be the last chance to catch her! Support comes from Tito Jackson, who will be performing a medley of Jackson family classics (that's what he promised on "This Morning" a few weeks ago). My family are going to the gig so tickets can be handed over outside the venue or if you live in the central belt I can hand deliver on Tuesday morning/afternoon. Thanks D.
  2. ps the chaps from Twilight Sad are going to come up with us to do a spot of Guest DJing.
  3. Cheers for the replies - yes indeed the venue is the Forum - can anyone help me with specific band suggestions?
  4. Hello, I co-run Glasgow club night Pin Up Nights and we have been offered the chance to do a night in Aberdeen at a large-ish venue. Does anyone on here reckon there'd be any appetite in Aberdeen for taking up a few Glasgow bands or Guest DJs (either from Glasgow bands. or from further afield)? We would of course want to get bands and/or DJs from Aberdeen involved too, but I think we may need some extra action on the bill to make an impact. Any constructive input would be appreciated. Thank you D. For info here's our up to date press blurb thingy- Pin Up Nights ( pinupv3 ) is a 5 year old 100% independent club night which take place on the last Friday of every month in Glasgow. Our most recent event was "Pin Ups Ladies Night 2", which attracted almost 400 people on 27th February 2009 to see live performances by 3 of Glasgow's best lady-fronted bands in addition to DJ sets by the ladies from Queens of Noize, Camera Obscura and the Concretes. Previous Pinups Guest DJs include Malcolm Middleton (Arab Strap), Editors, Stephen Street (producer of The Smiths and "Fifth Blur"), Tony Wilson (legendary founder of Factory Records), Super Furry Animals (twice!), Alex James (Blur), Brett Anderson (Suede), The Automatic, Ian Parton (The Go! Team), Mystery Jets, Terry Hall (The Specials), The Futureheads, The National, Art Brut, Sons & Daughters, Manda Rin (Bis), The Pipettes, Patrick Wolf, Mogwai, Errors, Twilight Sad, Florence & the Machine and Friendly Fires. Live bands who have played Pin Ups include The Brunettes, MGMT, Wild Beasts and the Rosie Taylor Project, in addition to several local bands who have gone on to become international stars - such as The Fratellis (in 2006), Glasvegas (in 2005) and Attic Lights (2006).
