  1. Jeez. My mate at work told me. Didn't believe him. Rip.
  2. Soraya - Animals As Leaders - Spotify - Amazing instrumental piece called "Soraya" by "Animals as leaders," a project by Reflux guitarist Tosin Abassi Ballad Of Big Nothing - Elliott Smith - Spotify Elliott Smith - Ballad of big nothing. 'Nuff said. Falling Forever - Mutiny Within - Spotify Mutiny Within - Falling Forever. Anyone into metal should give this album a listen. Not bad for their debut.
  3. I like it. It's about time the music scene got a bit of press. So far so good. As everyone else has said though, more space would be pretty cool.
  4. No problem mate! Decent stuff you have here. Yeah, Recording and playing live are compeltely different things as you already know. I suppose having the right gear and musicians to back you up will help you majorly. I'm moving away next weekend so if I could nick a cd off you that'd be awesome man.
  5. I wasn't aware of this. As some of you know already, I am a big DT and A7X fan (yeah, Avenged Sevenfold, deal with it) I don't think Mike would leave DT to pursue a career with Avenged, especially since he's been with dream theater since the 80's.
  6. this thing lasts like 5 seconds but cracks me up for some reason... and this one YouTube - grim im open!!!! billy and mandy ...I'm far too easily amused...

Okay, I have the most ridiculous sense of humour but this had me in stitches for some reason. Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson go on a camping trip. After a good dinner and a bottle of wine, they retire for the night, and go to sleep. Some hours later, Holmes wakes up and nudges his faithful friend. Watson, look up at the sky and tell me what you see. I see millions and millions of stars, Holmes replies Watson. And what do you deduce from that? Watson ponders for a minute. Well... Astronomically, it tells me that there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets. Astrologically, I observe that Saturn is in Leo. Horologically, I deduce that the time is approximately a quarter past three. Meteorologically, I suspect that we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. Theologically, I can see that God is all powerful, and that we are a small and insignificant part of the universe. But what does it tell you, Holmes? Holmes is silent for a moment. Watson, you idiot! he says. Someone has stolen our tent!
  8. I quite like it. Pretty original compared to most stuff you hear these days... Also, a free CD of any kind is always awesome... *EDIT* Live though, it'd be difficult to achieve the same sound as on the recordings. I think if you put the effort in practicing and stuff though it'd be fucking amazing live.

I read somewhere that the best way to get intimate with girls is to enter into their subconscious mind. But entering them in their unconscious mind is easier.
  10. Well I was maybe a bit of a knob for that comment about sound engineers working for free... let's face it, I probably wouldn't, but the rest of my argument as far as I can tell is pretty valid. I'm not trying to "point the finger" or anything, because it's not necessarily the venue(s) doing. When kids turn up drunk on the little bottle of Glens Vodka they nicked from their mams cupboard, if anything happens, the venue gets the blame... it's just a vicious cycle really... Let them play, you'll get in trouble from authorities, don't let them play and the kids will probably go apeshit at you for having nowhere to play.
  11. Dream Theater - in the presence of enemies (the live version so it has the whole 26 minutes of awesome) Butthole Surfers - Pepper Avenged Sevenfold - m.i.a Pink Floyd - Poles apart Million Dead - Smiling at strangers on trains Beatles - Penny Lane Dinosaur jr - Pieces Goo Goo Dolls - Big Machine Motorhead - Ace of Spades Elliot Smith - Between the Bars book - the lord of the rings trilogy thing I have... it's massive, and what a way to bore myself to death luxury item - a big box of non-perishables cos i'd be fuckin starving!

    Singers...

I'm up for giving it a go. send some tunes to my email. berni90@hotmail.co.uk
  13. Neil Peart, Bill Bruford... there's so much better than Joey Jordinson in my opinion. At the end of the day it's all about taste in music. I don't think there's a "greatest" instrumentalist/singer at all.
  14. I think that if 14+ gigs were advertised more in say schools, youth clubs etc, then they could pull in bigger crowds to the tunnels. It's not much effort for a bunch of kids away to play a gig to put together a little poster and stick it on a notice board. Maybe get someone to volunteer to do the sound? I'm sure there'll be at least one or two sound guys in Aberdeen willing to do a gig for less money, or even for free... but I have been wrong before. I remember when I was 14/15 living in Shetland. The band I was in played loads of places. Halls were hired out for underage gigs, and the bar wasn't open, they just had some dude with a table handing out tins of coke for a quid each.
  15. I'm up for havin a go at vocals.
  16. Adam - Like I said dude i'm sorry, it's all arranged and stuff, and I really should have waited a few more minutes before posting anything. It's going to Bigsby, he's coming to pick it up later. Again, i'm sorry.
  17. Well then, i'll give you positive rep and a pat on the head for the effort.
