  1. Would be very much appreciated. Cheers.
  2. Hmm! Got a bit distracted there! The reason I stumbled upon this thread is because I was doing a search for an old Aberdeen band called 'One God Universe'. Reason being is I was trying to get a hold of some of their music? Ive tried One Up and the wee record shop under One Up but no joy! Anyone know where I could get a hold of any of their stuff? Cheers
  3. Geez! This thread is 5 years old!! But hey ho! The Leap? are you being serious? They were awful. I think they were called 'Club Stereophonic' before they decided to change to The Leap. Didn't they have the Tallest singer in the world? haha! Best local band I ever saw were called 'Charlotte Says'. Cracking band. I think it was a girl called Jo McCAfferty who sang for them.
  4. Good to hear that the Tilted wig is evolving into a "proper" venue. Any chance of a gig? We actually asked about the chances of a gig about a couple of months ago but never got much positive feedback. Are you only booking 'experienced" bands? We are relatively new on the covers scene but wanna gig as much as we can. Anyhoos, looking forward to coming and checking the place out.
  5. If Aberdeen is "pretty boring" compared to Glasgow,Manchester,London....go live in Glasgow,Manchester or London.
  6. Who really needs to lighten up? getting a little stressed aren't we?
  7. Hey, i think we've been in contact before! Is it just vocals your after? I play bass and love the influences you mention. I'm also dabbling with Logic at the moment. if you want to hook up give me a shout back. Cheers.
  8. Hey, did you ever get yourself hooked up with a band?
  9. Hey, You love all the bands I love. I actually tried to get a NIN tribute going about a year ago. http://www.aberdeen-music.com/forums/musicians/52144-nin-tribute.html Didn't get enough bites tho. :-( I'd love to something on the go with guys(or girls! ;-) ) who like the same stuff I do. What sort of age group you looking at? Or does that not bother you? Give me a shout back. Cheers.
  10. Hey guys, I play Bass and Id be keen to give it a go. Im in my mid Thirties, have played in bands before and like the rockier side of music. Infact, im a bit partial to the heavier side of rock too. I listen to the likes of Foo fighters, Fall out Boy, Audioslave, NIN, Aerosmith, Thin Lizzy, Faith No More, The Cult, AC/DC, David Bowie, KOL, Killers, Radiohead, Van Halen, Jimmy Eat World, Blink 182, SoundGarden, 36 Crazy Fists, S.O.A.D, Korn, Rammstein, Tool, Anthrax, Marylin Manson, GN'R, Deftones, Alice in Chains, Lamb of God, American Head Charge, Raging Speedhorn, Slayer,Machine Head etc etc. Ive got my own gear and can practise most evenings and weekends. Give me a shout back if your interested. Cheers.
  11. I like that alot. Dunno if my index finger could keep up! LOL! Looks like it's on Soccer AM too!!
  12. Why aren't you looking for a bassist? I'd love to be involved in a project like this. Anyone go see Chemical Callum on Friday night?
  13. Wouldn't advise you to post your mobile number guys. Just a thought.
  14. I'd love to get involved in this, unfortunately i'm a bass player too. I love all types of music but i'm really into stuff like graham Central Station, Earth Wind and Fire, The Meters, Black Heat, Cold Grits, Charles Watts and th 103rd St rhythm band, Bootsy, Wilson Pickett, Detroit Sex Machines etc. Let us know how it gets on.
  15. Well said that man. I get totally pissed off when folk slate Aberdeen and what is "doesn't offer" Well if it aint "your cup of tea" feck off to where it is "your cup of tea" There have been and indeed are shit loads of good bands in Aberdeen but it's this attitude of the central belt is better that is stifling the talent up here. So, get up of yer arses and either A. look for whats good musically in Aberdeen instead of jumping on the Glasgow,Edinburgh etc are miles better bandwagon. or B. Move to Glasgow or Edinburgh as you clearly dont find what stimulates you in Aberdeen.
  16. Best you stay away from Oasis lovers then. Eh ST?
  17. So guys....we all up for it?
  18. Did you get my PM? Would you be keen to do someting live in the future?
  19. I'm right up for this. Love NIN and Rammstein. What instruments to you play? I play bass. I've got a couple of rough tracks that i did on Reason that you may want to listen to?! I'll PM the web page to you.
  20. !!!!bump!!!! Thought i'd put the feelers out for this again.
  21. Hey. I know you say your open minded but do you have any preferences? I'm keen to get going again after a bit of a lay-off. I'm 33 and have a love loads of different styles but my favourite would be stuff like SOAD, Audioslave, NIN, Faith No More, Placebo, My Vitriol, Kings Of Leon, Janes Addiction, Velvet Revolver etc. I've been in a few bands in Aberdeen before but have not played a gig for around 7 years and not been practising as much as i should, but i really miss it. I was up for playing covers but having given it some thought playing originals was more of a buzz. I play bass and I'd be up for a jam at anytime. Cheers
  22. Well, the very fact that Coldplay seem to be big fans tells me all i need to know. Chris Martin is so far up his own arse it's not even funny. Anyway....you mention all these artists who are fans of A-HA, so i'm assuming that these endorsements are meant to suggest that A-HA are indeed a "good" "popular" "credible" band etc etc? You may or may not have a point. I wonder how many famous artists are fans of the bands(Led Zep,AC/DC,Oasis,Nirvana etc) you mention with such distaste?? I'm pretty sure the likes of Led Zep have influenced far more rock/pop stars than A-HA, No? Just a thought.
