  1. I suspect I know the sort of scam Barlow et al may have gone for, I worked with a guy who tried to convince me on a scheme, sounded dodgy to me. Its pathetic how much HMRC target individuals rather than corporations but i guess the lack of corporate lawyer power wins out in the end. Regarding Barlow, the hypocrisy of Cameron when he was quick to criticize Jimmy Carr rankles
  2. Cellar 35 is a great wee place, it has its limitations but I don't really think they matter too much for the level of gigs that take place there. Hopefully as they are taking on more live music they will invest in the place accordingly. Ive been quite impressed with Downstairs the few times I have been, sound was ok to my ears. It felt like I practically lived in Tunnels for a period between playing gigs and watching gigs but its a complete toilet nowadays. The Moorings is always a good night out but they have definitely inherited the ex-Drummonds stock-in-trade of old punk bands refusing to call it a day and tribute bands, they don't seem too interested in local bands these days unless its a punk or metal band. A select few bands seem to get regular slots. The eclectic Saturday night bills that I remember definitely seem to have mostly gone. Good business I guess but they have left the local music scene behind, which is reflected by their loss of standing in the best venue stakes, I suspect. Not been to Drummonds for years.
  3. "It's 'The Final Countdown' by foockin' Journey", made me laugh lots
  4. Thats great, is their other stuff in a similar vein?
  5. Eagle Twin are amazing. Have you heard Orthodox? Also amazing.
  6. I dislike the idea of my privacy being invaded but not because I think I have anything to hide, it just feels a bit Big Brother. In the case of this buffoon, it seems like poetic justice that he has been removed from his position after earning a fortune from a sport that has such a huge black presence but behind the scenes he was disparaging about black people.
  7. Supporting Discharge next Saturday, you're like a prophet min
  8. Wasn't that annoying and I often lament the early demise of that band, it was great fun to play. Fucking Jim and his moving away to other places.
  9. Is this an expression of sibling devotion?
  10. I listened to this last night and also thought 'Big Country-esque' at the start but then it reminded me of Dropkick Murphys when the vocals kicked in. It's not as memorable as the first one you posted as the vocals are less unhinged sounding, still like it though. I am hopeful to make this next Laika night....
  11. I've worked in the oil industry for a long time and have worked for some real cuntstacks but since it is a small industry and said cuntstacks have some inexplicable influence I have never left a job in the fashion I would really like to. Basically I tend to wish I could talk to large amounts of people like I was Malcolm Tucker. But never will because I'm a slave to the man. Boo hoo.
  12. Did you try Tommy who used to work on the dock? He's down on his luck. It's tough.
  13. It was on a Vodafone contract so as far as I understand will only work with a Vodafone SIM. It seems easy enough to take them to get unlocked at one of these places like in the market.
  14. Available again due to time waster.....
