  1. I'd like to start an awesome band I have 4 songs written in the "heavy rock" genre ( to be as general as possible ) Each with 2 or more guitar parts, bass, drums, and vocals Sometimes it's yer blues based big rock songs Sometimes it's weird exotic scales Sometimes it has chromatic licks sliding about I like odd time signatures and cool scales and sounds that I'm NOT used to hearing But I like simple music too, It's about the emotional charge really I like vocal harmonies also But anything goes as long as it is original ( and awesome ) I'm not hard to get along with but I cannot be doing with: * selling badges, cds, or sex on Regent Quays * trying to have an "image" * making a myspace page before anything else * playing gigs while we sound like shit because we have no patience * playing gigs and sounding like another band because we nicked all the riffs ( and I didn't really want to include this but I think it'll suitably discourage anyone who keeps their finger in their bum for inordinate amounts of time from replying ) I care only about the actual music! Looking especially for a good singer, male or female I'm looking for people who would have no problem learning these tunes, and who feel crazy and confident enough to write some more decent original music. Influence include: Turbonegro Miles Davis Soundgarden Squarepusher Aphex Twin Dead Can Dance Sunny Day Real Estate Kiss Darkthrone Tool Mars Volta Future Sounds Of London Anal Beard Nine Inch Nails Tom Waits
  2. Both our newest songs have high vocals parts that I find hard to sing. Also it would be great to write new songs with you if you are a good singer. It's equal parts sisters of mercy, NIN and drum n bass! Here is the second newest, as the newest is not recorded yet. MySpace.com - LabAnimal - Aberdeen, UK - Industrial / Punk / Drum & Bass - www.myspace.com/labanimalab . The vocals are done in octaves, and the songs in a weird sort of middle-eastern scale at points, which we tried to get sounding alll phat, since the bass is super loud and theres octave guitars too. But it took a lot of sherry to get my voice to go that high. Anyway, I don't really know! It probably doesn't work so well, considering we're not famous people. Anyways if working with this sort of thing and writing new stuff interests you, you should get in touch!
  3. One evening as the sun went down and the jungle fire was burning Down the track came a hobo hiking and he said boys I'm not turning I'm headin for a land that's far away beside the crystal fountains So come with me we'll go and see the Big Rock Candy Mountains In the Big Rock Candy Mountains there's a land that's fair and bright Where the handouts grow on bushes and you sleep out every night Where the boxcars are all empty and the sun shines every day On the birds and the bees and the cigarette trees Where the lemonade springs where the bluebird sings In the Big Rock Candy Mountains In the Big Rock Candy Mountains all the cops have wooden legs And the bulldogs all have rubber teeth and the hens lay soft boiled eggs The farmer's trees are full of fruit and the barns are full of hay Oh, I'm bound to go where there ain't no snow Where the rain don't fall and the wind don't blow In the Big Rock Candy Mountains In the Big Rock Candy Mountains you never change your socks And the little streams of alcohol come a-trickling down the rocks The brakemen have to tip their hats and the railroad bulls are blind There's a lake of stew and of whiskey too You can paddle all around 'em in a big canoe In the Big Rock Candy Mountains In the Big Rock Candy Mountains the jails are made of tin And you can walk right out again as soon as you are in There ain't no short handled shovels, no axes saws or picks I'm a goin to stay where you sleep all day Where they hung the jerk that invented work In the Big Rock Candy Mountains I'll see you all this coming fall in the Big Rock Candy Mountains
  4. Hello What is wrong with cyber euphoric grey dance matter these days?! It's as if the glittering sensation of togetherness had never begun! Perhaps so but besides this sort of inane bollocks does anyone like acid break-beats on here?
