I really enjoyed this gig last night, my ears didn't haha.. It was good to finally put faces to the members of Dross. I will have to catch them again live soon. I enjoyed their set. Jan.... your Strat can make weird noises like. Taint where good too, but the band of the night for me was Manatees. They where amazing! it would be cool if they come back to Aberdeen again. All bands sounded ace last night, Scott was on form behind the mixing desk for sure. Def the best sound I have ever heard at the Tunnels. Also well done to the promoters, it was quite a busy gig for a Monday at Tunnels, nice one chaps!

I have used one of these before to power my russian big muff.. 9V Battery Clip Adaptor It worked well but it eventually failed through wear and tear as the lead gets trapped by the battery compartment lid. There are various mods that can be done to the Big Muff pedal that enables it to be connected to a 9v adaptor. This is something I have been thinking about doing with mine, I am still to find a decent 'how to' guide on the net though... anyone know how to do this?

I am looking for a cheap pedal board or case to house a couple of guitar effect pedals in for gigging etc.. Looked about online and all seem very expensive. I currently only use a wah, big muff and tuner pedal, but looking to add a couple more pedals to my setup. I am wondering if anyone has a case or pedal board they dont need anymore they would like to part with for not much cash? thanks

Most bands with the sound I am after play Matamp, JCM800, Oranges of some sort, or Randall "dimebags"...... All bloody expensive lol.

I run a very basic setup, russian big muff, cry baby wah and tuner pedal... I would ideally like the the valve amp to have a decent overdrive sound but I would be happy to still use the big muff with it. I would love to get my hands on the Randall "Dimebag" head like...

Yeah it is Jay, Yeah I was going to look at going down the finance route. I really want to make the perfect choice first time, as I do not plan on buying another amp again. I really do like the sound of the Orange Rockerverb 50. I notice more and more bands are using Orange now so they must be doing something right. got recommended a Peavey 6505 as well, but not sure about them for the sorta sound I am looking for?? thoughts?

I maybe interested in it, for the right price :-)

Would love a matamp or a green amp but soo expensive. Sovtek will be very hard to get hold of. I am considering an orange.... but need to save up more for that.

Hola, I am currently looking to replace my Marshall AVT50H half stack with a decent cab and a valve head. I am wondering if anyone knows anything about the Marshall MA50H head? has anyone played one etc.. I am really looking for 50 watts max. I play sludge, hardcore sorta stuff..... usually play through pedals... any advice would be grand!

I only like one AVT product not the whole range.... Oh and to answer the thread topic. It is perfectly fine to buy an amp second hand as long as you are careful and know what you want.

I disagree, my AVT50 Head is an ace wee beast. It is serving me very well, to the point where I am trying to source another one to have as a spare.. I love it. I have heard horror stories with the other models in the AVT range but I can not fault the 50H like espically when it is paired with a quality cab. We can all dream of owning an ace valve amp though. Personally I would love to get my hands on a jcm800 but... i can not justify it at the moment, when my avt50 works so well, plus means saving up for a fair while to buy a jcm lol
