  5. To ca_gere - you rock! We are a bit miffed with the billing, but Copy Haho were nice enough to invite us to play so we're not too miffed. As long as the ol chalk board on the night doesn't list us as 'Kuda' then all is good. Incidentally Kuda has changed his stage name - more on that later. Early plug - we've got copies of our five-track EP to shift! Work is a drag today as I just can't wait for tonight - going to be mad good.

  7. Feel that one. Really looking forward to the post-European tour, post-album recording Copy Haho. Oh, and droppin some quality choons we've been cooking up in the lab this summer

  9. Stan Tracey's going to be brilliant, total icon of jazz. Also worth a mention are Brass Jaw - a really inventive four piece who have done away with the traditional rhythm section and performing entirely on brass.
  10. Courtney Pine was incredible last night, set the bar high for the rest of the festival! Niki King tonight will be something very special, definitely one for those who prefer the more mellow, vocal-led jazz.
  11. Graeme Stephen's new Quartet are playing this Saturday lunchtime in The Lemon Tree Lounge; doors open 12pm and they should be on approx 12.30pm. To book a table phone 01224 337688 - I would recommend doing so as we're expecting it to be pretty busy this weekend.

They are widely regarded as the fastest rising new stars of the British acoustic scene and have had their unique style of music christened 'Urban Folk' by the UK music press. Peter Gregson Thu 19 August, doors 7pm 10/8 + bf; under 26s 5 +bf The Lemon Tree Lounge Thought we'd try something a wee bit different down at The Lemon Tree. 23 year old cellist Peter Gregson is a pioneer of contemporary music and ambassador of a new generation of musicians for whom the use of new technologies is increasingly a matter of course. Ever had an electric sensor cello suit on? Or performed at a concert with a live comment feed displayed on the wall? Or composed musical Twitter poems? Cellist Peter Gregson has done all of it of his own accord and is being acclaimed for it not only by classical sector, but also by the media and technology world. His pioneering work in refreshing the classical genre earned him the prestigious Glenfiddich Spirit of Scotland award for music in November 2008 as well as membership to the Courvoisier Future 500. Blueflint Fri 13 August, doors 7.30pm 10/8 + bf The Lemon Tree Lounge Steeped in Americana and based around the banjo duo of Deborah Arnott and Clare-Louise Neilson, Blueflint subtly intertwines the three-finger picking and clawhammer styles of banjo traditions to accompany striking vocals and harmonies on a set of original songs.
