  1. That was exactly the point I was trying to make. I also agree with you when you say that each song should be taken on it's own merit. I would like to be able to say that I have the same approach but my own ignorance get's in the way from time to time. It's something that I'm trying to change. Still dig this tune though Got any others in the pipeline guys? Hows the new line-up getting on?
  2. it seems you've missed or delibratly twisted the point i was making.
  3. so looking at it from your perspective, the bias is inherently against the music and you've lost all sense of objectivity. not being a fan of heavy metal, then you are already ignorant and uninformed of what constitutes good heavy metal. enough said, this as an ASD thread, not a tam o' shantie feedback thread.
  4. was referring to the type comments of tam o'shantie mainly - jumping to the conclusion that ASD were "namechecking", amongst other general waffle. why not give a producer some credit? the music they produce is the best advert they have to generate more interest and income, and in turn buy better equipment to extend they're experience and resources - like buying "new strings" i suppose o_O wtf?!
  5. i like this song a lot. myspace doesn't do it justice at all pernickety comments on aberdeen music?!! o_O it's a shame feedback couldn't be delivered from a more informed perspective. keep truckin' guys!
  6. i quite enjoyed that. nothing exciting, but quite pleasant to have on in the background while you study for your pain in the arse summer resits. you need music for all occasions
  7. not a big fan of the intro, kinda reminds me of those really naff science videos we had to watch in school. the rest of the songs are okay for what they are, not a fan of power metal though.
  8. thats fair enough. i have noticed that most, if not everybody, has talked about the sound and nothing about the composition musically. i'm guilty of that aswell. it should seem obvious to people when you put a rough track up that you arent looking for shallow comments about the sound of the guitar or whatever. instead you are looking for feedback on the writing before you go and record it propper. in my opinion the vocals could do with a bit of work physically and lyrically. not much wrong with the guitar riffs, if i was being really picky you could maybe add some variation. same with the drums, a bit too straight for me. apologies for being so vague.
  9. The bass is lacking a lot of presence. I dont know an awful lot about this sort of thing but it sounds like the bass is missing exactly that - bass. I'm hearing an awful lot of fret noise and not enough note. That could be down to poor strings, poor playing, poor action on the guitar, i just dont know. But if u think its the shiz then thats what matters right?! That could have been the sound you were looking for. After all the bass is considered the hybrid between percussion and melody.
  10. "Movement of Minds" recently recorded at NS Productions, along with 2 other tracks which should be up soon. Check it out on the myspace.... MySpace.com - ENRAPTURE (EP FINISHED! - NEW SONG UP!) - Aberdeen, UK - Metal - www.myspace.com/enraptureband Cheers
