  1. How long does it take to get to Dyce from Bridge of Don weekday mornings? I'm heading out there for a job interview next week and I've got no idea what to expect traffic wise. Need to arrive by 8.30am.
  2. This should do the trick: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Edimax-EW-7811UN-Wireless-802-11b-150Mbps/dp/B003MTTJOY/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1363537139&sr=1-2
  3. I just got an overdrive pedal from him, which I'm hoping to try out properly this week. Placed an order for a Fuzz Factory clone too.
  4. This just got announced today. Pretty stripped back in terms of features but I'm into the simplicity of it.
  5. It's a predictable suggestion, but the Squier Vintage Modified Jazz basses would be a good shout if you're buying new.
  6. Also, why not just look for a used Standard and get her to buy you that instead?
  7. If she loved you she'd get you the better one.
  8. http://www.thomann.de/gb/gibson_songwriter_deluxe_12.htm A cool £15 saving to be made in this thread...
  9. I have the larger 3500 that I've never used that I might sell soon. If you don't end up getting this one then I'll let you know when I'm shifting mine. £300 for this rig is so good. Genuinely shocked no one is snapping it up!
  10. I think so! So essentially I'll probably get taxed because I'm earning quite a bit in a short period of time, but I'm likely to receive this back come September when I go back to earning barely anything...right?
  11. Further reading indicates this could very well be the case! I'd got it into my head for some reason that there's a second job tax, but hopefully that's completely wrong.
  12. Someone help plz. I'm a student with a part time job but I just got a full time internship for the next 12 weeks. If I decide to ruin my summer and work 7 days a week in both jobs (urgh) do I automatically get taxed on the full time one as it's technically my 2nd job? Or do you get taxed on the job you earn less in? If anyone knows and can save me a tedious phone call to HMRC tomorrow I'll be thrilled.
  13. One of these http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/electric_guitars_detail.asp?stock=11102614143147
  14. It's all valve and it doubles as an iPod docking station. The Excelsior is the new Fender amp that really excites me.
  15. I have an Ashdown 8x10 that I can't currently justify owning. It's bloody massive. Don't suppose you'd be interested in buying it?
  16. Saw Listener about a year ago in Glasgow and the whole set was material off Wooden Heart if I remember correctly. Very enjoyable live for sure, and really nice guys too.
  17. Are there any courier companies that let you specify a collection slot? I'm trying to arrange one between 9-12 Wednesday and it's proving to be an absolute nightmare. Royal Mail are charging about £15 more than other companies so they're a last resort really...
  18. AB22 Very surprising that those fields haven't been turned into LOADS OF MORE HOUSES yet. AB22 for life.
  19. How much for the Les Paul case?
  20. I've never used the Nokia but from looking at the specs and seeing it online I don't think it's really worth your money. Technology moves pretty quickly. I'm sure in 2008 it would have got great reviews but that was 3 years ago. To put it into perspective, the iPad wasn't released until 2010, and that's when the tablet market really kicked off. If you hunt about (which if it's a Christmas present you probably don't have much time for sadly) you should be able to get an HP Touchpad for £150. Try Gumtree perhaps? Alternatively a small netbook would probably be a more sensible option, although I'm unsure on how much you'd be looking at for one of those. I'd expect £200 would get you a decent enough one though But that would definitely be a practical option for web browsing.
  21. I had an HP Touchpad for a while. For £89 they were definitely a massive bargain, although I'm pretty sure you're looking more £150-200 for them now. Even for that money it's going to be a far better bet than the Nokia. Although not as responsive as an iPad and a little laggier they're good devices. Very limited in terms of apps but for a web browser it does the job. Nice interface too. I'd definitely go for one of those over the Nokia if £150 is your budget.
