  1. I prefer synthwave to be as distorted as possible. A lot of these acts seemed to have started quite mellow and have gradually gotten heavier. The GosT album certain follows that path, theres some blast beats and everything.
  2. Fuuuuuuuu I can handle reading tales of broken bones, scrapes, even studs to the danglers, but once toe webbing gets involved... NAH NO NO NOPE NO.
  3. new JESUS PIECE LP is going to be AOTY, no doubt. So heavy.
  4. New GoST LP is the heaviest one so far, if you dig that dark synthwave stuff. https://blood-music.bandcamp.com/album/possessor
  5. Managed to get one of these for half RRP from a guy at work who bought it new and then didn't want it. No idea why he wouldn't want it. This might be the most fun musical instrument ever made.
  6. I got an infected cyst on my neck removed a few weeks back. It was deep under the skin, and enormous. One thing I didn't know, and one thing the doctor didn't say as he was cutting his way in, is that infected tissue is immune to local anaesthetic. So it only helped for cutting through the surface, once he was through to the cyst, it was horrendous. No numbing at all. I yelled, quite a bit. Pretty sure the waiting room will have heard it. Worst pain I've experienced by a distance, coupled with the sensation of infected tissue being scraped out. Eye-watering stuff. I asked my GP to have it removed about a year ago, before it was infected, but it's considered cosmetic at that stage and they wanted £120 to do it. Wish I'd have paid it now.
  7. He looks like the kind of dweeb you'd see on Danny Dyers Real Football Factories. Top button done. Probably kicks people in the head when they're on the ground. I bet he's got a thick Burnley accent too. "Abohdeen", "Europoh League". "Lancashoh". Urgh. Aberdeen will probably get dicked in the 2nd leg though, tbf.
  8. Finally got my gear in one place, instead of pedals being stuffed into a bedside drawer, guitars under the bed and a synth leaned up against the wall. Probably going to need a chair.
  9. No idea how it happened. I was supposed to fix it by shifting the vocal overdub backwards/forwards 4 beats, but I don't think I ever did... We were lucky with Geller that the whole thing stayed perfectly in time despite glitching ahead and deleting 4 beats, otherwise we'd had have to have scrapped the whole take, and that was probably our best song IMO.
  10. You're excused for the Dross gaff. It turned out to be the program we used to record (or my terrible laptop) glitching. It somehow manages to stay perfectly in time , but you can hear a little click where the glitch happens, deleting 4 bars, as it shifts back in to the riff. There was another glitch which shifted Teabags' vocals forward (or backwards, I can't remember which) and again it ended up being perfectly in time, just 4 bars ahead/behind. Man, there's some horrible sounds being made in the 2nd part of that song. It's excellent.
  11. I read one of those clickbaity "things that will make you feel old" things yesterday. They're usually naff, but this one in particular is a good one: Remember Bebeto's 'rock the baby' celebration from USA 94? This is the baby, except not a baby, but a 24 year old man: Sheeeeeit.
  12. Also, Trujillo is no longer 'the new guy', but the band's overall longest serving bass player. WOT?
  13. The one I heard is a total re-recording, with the purpose of sounding better, rather than like the old stuff. The guy does it all, vocals and everything, because he's some sort of masochistic lunatic. It does sound better. Not just the infamous drums, but the guitars are less muddy. But the songs are still pretty awful. It's somehow 15 minutes shorter though, so that's a bonus.
  14. Does he not do those falsetto harmonies on the "oh yeah.... alright..." bits too? I'm sure he does.
  15. Salah could be even better. He could be a late-bloomer like Messi Lingard, but not quite as good, obvs. Is Alisson an upgrade on Karius? I've not seen much of him, but his pricetag suggests that he is. Apart from the CL final blunders, Karius got a lot better as the season went on, he had a very good 2nd half of the season, but that final will damage him. Clearly the club don't want to gamble on his hurt confidence, as they've shelled out serious wedge for another keeper. You're right about City. Teams who went at them made them look foolish, but a lot were scared to commit against, quite understandably in a lot of cases, as it can easily backfire. I think the same will happen again, a few teams will get at City's defence, but most teams will shit themselves against them. It will be interesting to see if City bolster their already expensive defence. They're all good ball players, but none of them are particularly great defenders. Kompany is not the player he used to be, Otamandi looks on the cusp of a red card every game, Stones can pass and dribble but his defending is garbage, and Laporte looks to be a Stones clone, Walker is ok, but better in the opposition half. I'd only rate Mendy as a great all-rounder. Then again, Pep's Plan A for defending has always been to have the ball so the other team can't attack. If they lose the midfield battle like against Liverpool, Plan B is actual defending. They don't need Plan B too often.
  16. Didn't realise it was a super old thread til after I posted. Then realised that joke would have definitely already been made. Still stands though. They shouldn't have done it. There's a video of the whole album rerecorded on YouTube, as if the only thing holding it back is the production. It's not. It's still shit.
  17. That bit on Metallica's St Anger where they recorded all of it.
  18. If it wasn't just a Salah purple-patch, then they can definitely do it. Salah has had a fairly unremarkable career up until last season when it all just seemed to click for him. Chelsea seem to get a lot of stick retrospectively for letting him go, but barely anyone batted an eyelid at the time, as he just wasn't that good whenever he did get on the pitch. Went to Fiorentina on loan, wasn't great, then to Roma on loan, did ok, they made the deal permanent, continued to do just ok. Then he has one breakthrough season at Liverpool, and now it's all - you fucked it, Chelsea trololol. Arsenal should be better. I've read a few articles comparing them to United in 2013, but if anything, its the opposite. United really didn't want or need change. Fergie was still at the top. The change harmed them, and continues to do so. Arsenal were desperate for a clean break, and they'll definitely benefit from it. Chelsea will struggle if they lose Hazard and Courtois. Both difficult to replace. They also need to not have Morata as their starting centre forward. Higuain would be a good signing. If they lose those two, I think they'll miss out on top 4 again. The bottom end will be interesting. Can't see Cardiff staying up unless they make some moves in the next few weeks. Fulham and Wolves are coming up strong already though. Wolves have got mad Chinese money flooding in and they seem to have Jorge Mendes on retainer to broker deals they shouldn't be able to get. Fulham have tied down their best young players, and brought in Seri who looked set for a move to a big club. Huddersfield and Brighton have strengthened well too. Southampton look pisspoor, they look certain to go down. Transfer window closes in less than 3 weeks in the Premier League, but not everywhere else. That's going to be weird. It seems like hardly anything has happened yet, because of the World Cup.
  19. That looks like what I probably need. All the split mono to stereo leads I could see seemed to be 2 mono 6.35mm jacks to 1 stereo 3.5mm jack, which seemed weird, and I didn't wanna have to mess with adapters, they can get a bit noisy and unreliable (and super easy to lose).

    Your current read?

I'd heard about that some years ago, but never a confirmation of it. I always thought it was a myth.
  21. Jose sacked ("mutual consent") by Christmas. Carrick and Giggs to takeover, and they will bomb. Liverpool will finally not piss a cup final up the wall. I don't know which one, but one of them. Mega-rich Wolves are gonna smash some of the top 6 big-boys. No idea who will win it. Probably City on paper, but retaining the title is a rarity. Only two managers have done it in the PL era. That's pretty crazy.

    Your current read?

I didn't know that Hefe didn't even like punk when he joined. One of the lighter "oh wow" discoveries of the book. I too felt a bit numb afterwards. Way more grim than I expected of a band that sings about lesbians and pretending to have a vagina.
  23. Since this seems to just be the all-in-one gear thread, I have a totally dummy question, as I have no idea what I'm doing unless it involves just a guitar going in to an amp. I want to run 2 synths and a drum machine into my Yamaha THR10 amp. HOW DO I DO THIS. I was thinking a line mixer, all 3 devices into the line mixer, then into the synth/flat channel on the THR10. That's what I've read people do in multi synth/one amp live set ups. That bit is fine. Further complication arises from the mixers that are stereo output. How do the 2 stereo outs from the mixer feed in to an amp with one input? Is there a cable that will do this?
  24. Also, PRECIOUS https://preciousmusic.bandcamp.com/ Sounds like mid-paced 90s metallic hardcore, Snapcase in particular, if that stuff is your bag. The 'Unravelings' EP is great. They have a new album out this year too, which is decent, but hasn't grabbed me as instantly as Unravelings did, though I've only given it once spin so far. https://indecisionrecords.bandcamp.com/album/sick-rooms
