  1. winner of the moral highground thats middle age, suddenly it just hits you. you're favourite delay pedal stops working and somehow you dont care, you start playing acoustic guitar and take an interest in the cryptic crossword in the Press and Journal. aint' it a shame. i'm getting like that myself, i'd rather crack out the dyson and get some serious hoovering done that see a band, or listen to a cd, or talk about music nowadays.
  2. has anyone bothered to log in to said facebook page and see what it's all about? say what you like about stripey- he does post a lot of interesting stuff, and stimulates a lot of debate, which is a good thing chaps. anyway, i'd like to dump an anecdote that's been burning a hole in my pocket- vaugely related to the pc/non-pc debate, maybe someone would find it interesting. i worked at a shop in altens, a cash and carry. The boss was a lesbian, i cant remember the exact ciscumstances, but the boss was doing the rounds motivating her troops one day, she had somehow got a bee in her bonnet about how certain ethnic minorities were being refered to by the staff. anyway to cut a long story short we were instructed that the term "black" was a no-no, or to use her phrase "totally unacceptable", she demanded we used the term "coloured". there was to be no deviation from this procedure, and if anyone was caught using the banned phraseology disciplinary action would be taken. i knew i was fighting an up hill battle, but i did go and visit her in her office and made it clear she was an idiot, but she had no grasp of history- i even mentioned the civil rights movement in the states.... i got a written warning for that. actually it might have been for criticising the recorded out put of KD Lang in the canteen in her earshot. this whole debate is silly. Scottish folk are usually portrayed as "tight", it's harmless fun. I was once called "jockanese" by a black cockney in Drakes, i thought it was funny, he got all shirty when i mentioned my theory that football spread aids..... yeah.
  3. i think its a pretty decent desk- i'm nae to techy but what i can say is that the sound folk are cool- i played there a while ago and the duo i was in wanted to plug a four track into the di box and they did it so, i reckon whatever you want they will be able to accomodate. stripeys only pissed because the last time he played there they did'nt have a post fader bus to apply fellatio to his ego channel. e-mail the venue.
  4. ach, bebo is for divs. i'm going to type what i thinks. sins of the flesh is good, as you mentioned its a home demo- i like the guys voice- its a bit aberdeeny, but you can work on that. Holy bible-ish (pre-pies james dean bradfield), intelligent rock. aye it's fucking better than captain face/etc etc. it's a bit wuggy chuggy metal- but the melodys grand. i dinnae like the bass playing it's a bit " metallica instrumental", sack the metaller and get a kim deal-er. i'm going to listen to them all. in my shoes like the intro gallup, likes a bit like that there alice in chains. sounds a bit like the other one. the singing gets a bit aberdeeny on this one. holy fuck, folk in aberdeen are going to like this, it's a bit popcorn fiend( the bloke that was in subsistence). it's nae got much of a tune. mair metallica bass playing. seasick right see i like this, its a good riff and that- this time the guitars are a bit like metallica. the vocals get waaay to aberdeeny on this one- like that boy Grieg or Element ten past six. i do like it though. finally a tune. get rid of the widdly bits though. repeat offender its a bit funky. holy fuck, here we go- for home demos it sounds great, i think the vocals are the best point- as soon as you get rid of that wanky aberdonian rocker sound i could listen to this- try ripping off ziggy fae found and mixing it with the cunt fae twilight sad and run it through yer manics pedal and it should be great. the shape of songs is there, stop the widdly bassist if you can- if you cant simply play louder than him/her- or as i have found most widdly bassists really want to play guitar, shift him onto guitar and get some one to play simple bass. its good though. if i had beebo i would get it checked out first and then probably add you to see what else you made.
  5. this is quite funny. Its better than the average arab strap song. it needs more compression. and some e.q on the harp. it's better than the moin show! haaaaaargh!
  6. haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! has it nae mair buttons on it than that though? haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!
  7. you should know, you benifited from the starry eyed critique on here in your glorious Sirius days. you have a point though. if i read another gushing paragraph regarding the laughable output of solo-hog i'll end up eating my own shit as a diversion. i'm going back a few years here, but Ian simpson started a real feedback thread, with a kind of compulsion to review other folks work in order to get some sort of feedback. It was a bit too close to the garageband way of offering uploads per a few reveiws- but it was a good way of getting credible dialogue going. I allways say what i think- that debutant thread, and the music was worth hearing, but a lot of the other stuff should be deleted.
  8. hey guys, being new round here i would be well lathered if you could clue me information style, there are two sawers sisters? which one is it that plays piano? also i get confused with that Amber woman, anyway....
