  1. I think she is doing her own tour now?
  2. I liked Chris Cornell's You Know My Name as well, also Diamonds Are Forever. Worse one was probably the Quatum Of Solace effort. Always thought Pat Benatar should do one.
  3. A bit better than W but not as heavy as Z
  4. Forgive me if this has already been said, my attention span doesn't last long enough to go through all the posts If you have a slot in mind, to support band 'X' in August, would it not be a better idea to say who they are in the BOTB to win a support slot for, then open it to bands of that genre,or something that complements it. Then as someone said earlier let a panel decide, maybe of people from your company/or choice, maybe include a rep from band 'X', or local similar genre musicians.

Completely biased, but anything UFO...[Michael Schenker] Rockbottom Try Me Love To Love......
  6. I'm a big fan of UFO, they've had some great album artwork, especially the Hipnosis ones, but I don't know what they were thinking when they decided to use this....
  7. If someone dates say ,10 men/women and it goes pair shaped with them all , you have to ask yourself what the common denominator is here, that's right , you. Either you drive everyone else nuts or you can't choose a partner to save yourself. BTW that's 'you' as in a royal you , not aimed at anyone in particular.
  8. Sounds OK to me , barring the drums , a bit distracting from the overall sound, sounds a bit 'biscuit tin' if you know what I'm trying to say , not that i'm any expert. Of course, ripping your music and putting it on myspace may have done god knows what to the sound, unless the originals sound the same.
  9. The photo shoot was won in a competition by one of the parents, and taken up while they were in London anyway.
  10. OMG not heard them for aaages , they still going strong?
  11. Yeah, saw them in the paper recently, I think, and looked them up, very good.
  12. I would honestly be interested in what everyone thought about their music , given that most of you have been in the 'business' a while. I'm not in the band but would welcome constructive advice I could pass on, besides 'get a haircut'
  13. Just came across this, I really like it, definitely hear the Maiden influence, maybe even a bit of Schenker. I may have to dust off my denims and come down Saturday, do they let 'older' folk in at the Moorings
  14. You will probably find that doing them yourself may work out dearer, you've got the CDr's , jewel case, paper for the cover , front/back, insert leaflet and of course the ink. The only advantage is the cash outlay , because you just make up what you sell and recoup the cost right away. I am at the moment trying various ways for my sons band who where keen to record an actual CD. It is being sold to mainly family/friends just to build up some small funds for stuff that crops up from time to time. Of course there is always the download option via itunes etc if anyone expresses interest you can always point them to the download site or hand out cards with the details. BTW have you a site for your CD pressings, 72p is quite good, I'm sure it costs me more than that to do it myself! Not that I'm in the market to flog 1000 CD's though!! , but you never know:rockon:
  15. Nope, I've got them using an eco friendly method.. http://www.ysa.org.au/sydney/images/stories/VDGgenerator.jpg Toxic Distortion
  16. No problem , they should be not bad by then > www.toxicdistortion.co.uk
  17. Hi, Is there an age restriction? Checking before I mention it to my sons' band, they are 15 but have played a few gigs at Kef, Tunnels and Drummonds. BTW a name for it 'Granite Rocks'. Cheers, Rob.
