I live and work in aberdeen city so can arrange to meet / drop off, or alternatively, meet you before the gig. 30 only (they were about 34 with booking fee etc). 5. I agree with everything you're saying here. My big worry now is that now our band has got to a decent gigging standard, we will start to stagnate playing the same places in Aberdeen. Its hard to get all the band to come out of their comfort zone and do some different places. Also there is the costs of travelling far and wide (new bands rarely cover costs in that one). whilst I am lucky enough to be able to spend a bit of my own cash to do these things, its not the same for everyone.
  6. Thanks guys, you have saved me alot of time. I thought alot of these places might be as you described, but I didn't want to make any rash assumptions. I guess its a population thing. Only a small percentage of any town seek out new live music, so a small population can't support gigging bands. I guess its a shame for people who live there that would like to see something different.
  7. Ok, I am not actually from Aberdeen but have lived here ten years. I know a little about some of the towns near here, but not in terms of live music scene. Is it worth trying to gig in any of the following places, and if so, could anyone tell me the best places? We are a band that does our own material, so not really suitable for places that want a singalong covers band. Stoney Ellon Portlethan Peterhead Inverurie Keith Huntly Montrose Forfar Arbroath Dundee Perth. Thanks, Paul. REBELROULETTE
  8. "Love me like you" by The Magic Numbers. Also one of the best use of backing vocals (and I mean backing vocals, not harmonies).
  9. We (Rebel Roulette) are always interested in playing, so if all the band are free, we would be up for it. See the following links: rebelroulette@hotmail.co.uk rebel roulette on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads Page Not Found | Facebook
  10. The most usual places to try are Drummonds, Tunnels, Moorings. If you have a bit of reputation and can fill a place (and excuse my ignorance if you do), then you could try Lemon Tree and Warehouse.
  11. I have a pair of standing tickets for this gig. will sell the pair for 60. can arrange pick-up / drop-off in aberdeen city. email: paul.curtis@lundinbritain.com
  12. REBEL ROULETTE will be headlining a band night at Drummonds this Saturday. First gig of 2010, hope you can make it. 9pm onwards.
  13. Hi, We (REBELROULETTE) would definitely be interested in adding a track. Paul rebelroulette@hotmail.co.uk rebel roulette on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads www.facebook.com/rebelroulette

  15. Thanks for all the posts. I had a look on the band banners site, I think we will go with that. Personally, I think it does make the band look more organised and stand out. Sure, you eventually live or die by the music, but not every punter is a muscician, so its good to have some visual impact. Its not the be all or end all, but they do look quite jazzy!
