  1. Nah. Though, I did need to cool down for over a week so I didn't call you a moron and end up looking like an arsehole. Be thankful I restrained myself; else I'll conjure up my most powerful dead relatives to turn off your kettle just a second too soon, or hide that last screw you needed for your cabinet. Odin help you if you even dare walk down the 9th step of any stairs at 3.13pm on February the 29th.
  2. Heh. Teabags got pwned by the power of suggestion. N00b!
  3. Have any of you read any books written by Rob Grant after the pair split? Seems clear from reading those that he's been the real brains behind the more enlightened stuff, particularly evident in Incompetence. Even within the Red Dwarf universe, "Backwards" easily trumps "The Last Human" (written by Grant and Naylor respectively). If you haven't read anything by Rob Grant I highly recommend Incompetence and "Fat".
  4. Tell me that's not hilarious.
  5. I thought it was cute when the woman joined in and thought her opinion mattered.
  6. You're just another twat with an opinion on something you've clearly never seen/heard. I can understand it from politicians (who love publicity), but you are clearly here just to spout a brainless opinion. In short: GTFO.
  7. Oh, what I said there still stands! Did I mention that those alcohol rubs are flammable?
  8. After reading up on it some more, I'll admit my lack of understanding of hand sanitizers. From the wiki: "Alcohol rubs kill many different kinds of bacteria, including antibiotic resistant bacteria and TB bacteria. Alcohol rubs inactivate many different kinds of viruses, including the flu virus and the common cold virus. Alcohol rubs also kill fungus. Not all pathogens are equally susceptible. Certain bacteria, especially the spore-forming gram positives (e.g. Clostridium difficile) are relatively resistant and remain biologically viable. During the Anthrax attacks on the United States Postal Service, authorities warned that alcohol hand rubs would not kill anthrax spores. In environments with high lipids or protein waste (such as food processing), the use of alcohol hand rubs alone may not be sufficient to ensure proper hand hygiene."
  9. I recall watching a news piece in which a doctor was very much opposed to the use of hand sanitiser in hospitals. Something about it makes it far less effective than soap (liquid or bar) and water. Probably that most bugs are actually immune to what's in the sanitiser, but soap works by attaching to both non-polar and polar molecules and leaving them easy to rinse off, thus avoiding the need to combat the bacteria. I <3 wiki Hand sanitiser is for convenience (outdoor events where water isn't readily available) whereas soap, whilst old fashioned is beaten only by chemicals that readily degrade your own skin in the process! The water is readily available, even if it's a little slow. I shall endeavour to use the right tap from now on!
  10. For those interested; every vertebrate animal is protected by law... plus some species of octopus - it's got something to do with pain sensation. The law says you can kill them if they're a being a pest, but there must be no unnecessary suffering.
  11. You gotta admit, this guy is one hell of a troll! Not only does his first topic get 2 pages of responses, his next gets more than double that! I can't wait to see how much his next one gets!!
