  7. Tomorrow folks, Tickets are going well and if they sell out you can still pay on the door.
  8. Tickets now on sale via ticketweb, should be in One-Up by Saturday. And now, the end is near ....... We're really sad, but excited to announce that we're hosting our last regular Ivy party on Dec 1st 2007. Over the last 4 years we believe we've thrown the best and wildest parties in the North of Scotland and had great fun doing it, but we feel it's time to move on again. From Ballroom raves with Lashes and Taul Paul (and the Grampian Fire Brigade), to mad castle adventures all over Scotland, to bringing world class of DJ's such as Mauro Picotto and Marco Bailey - we've always tried to do something that was just that little bit fresh & different - New places, fun things happening at our parties, bringing new talent to Aberdeen and those that know us well know that we've never taken ourselves too seriously, worked our little cotton socks off, never gone out of our way to rip/piss anyone off or put anyone down, no matter what others might say and are chuffed that other nights copied some of our ideas - it's great to innovate! Over the years we've had a great bunch of people support us, from those of you that have supported the nights by turning up to those that have give their ounce of sweat, blood and tears in helping us put on the nights/days/events, especially those who have helped up put on the more bizarre parties - you know who you are and we're really humbled by the support that has been given to us over the years! - All in the name of a bloody good party! So to go out with a bang, were really chuffed to be putting on the LAST of our IVY nights in the music venue that has always gone the extra mile to help us out 'THE TUNNELS'on 'SAT DEC 1ST 2007'. We've asked the DJ who gave us the best party of 2007, BASS GENERATOR, along with MC LOCO to guest on this night and they will be supported by THE FINISHERS, aka DJ SKELP & LADY ASBO! In room 2 for all our housed up friends who we've had so many parties with, we're throwing an Ivy originals party IAIN GREENHALGH, DISFUNKTIONS KEV C & TRIGO and some IVY ALLSTARS on the decks. This is going to be a great fun party and the end of an era, so were all looking forward to you joining us for this finale.

  14. This Saturday folks, should be a great Ivy party in a lovely venue which is new to us! You'll be able to pay on the door!
  15. Ivy is proud to welcome to Aberdeen for the first time, Andy Whitby Winner of the 2007 Hard Dance Awards Best DJ and Best Resident DJ with his Frantic residency! The Whitby experience; At 6ft tall and broad-shouldered, with his trademark shaved head, a chunky ostentatious chain around his neck, and immaculate dress sense Andy makes an imposing figure who commands respect. His confident appearance is matched by his masterful control of a good mixing deck. Before each set he always powers down the previous track and leads the packed dance floor in a show of appreciation for the out-going DJ, before kick-starting his performance into a blaze of visuals, an orchestra of special effects which extracts every quality beat of each track as he begins his show. Watching Andy DJ is part of the Whitby experience. Cocky? Perhaps, but certainly not arrogant, Whitby is now in control of the minds and bodies of his audience. A very precise and confident body language gives a visual indication to what he is playing as he acts out each track. Yet, he is not dancing; this is something far more emotional. Imagine watching a porn star having hot, rough, yet passionate but dominating sex to a breathless, wailing lover which, in this case, comes in the shape of a mixing desk. Forceful, dominant, aggressive yet somehow tender and caring. The visual impact allows your body to further immerse itself in the ecstasy he is submitting you to; your ears alone cannot possibly absorb everything that he is throwing at you. As for his sound, imagine every track as a partially completed canvas. Through the use of effects on the mixing desk, Andy adds his own colour, texture and feel as he maximises every beat of every track to create the unique Whitby sound. His precision mixing at incalculable speeds is part of the show; as each track mixes in you can positively feel the dance-floor going up a notch to keep up with the frantic and energetic DJ that has them all by the balls. Andys blend of vocal uplifting bouncy house is like him: deliciously hard yet very accessible. And when Andy makes eye contact with you, even if only be for a second, you get to experience the ultimate unique sensation of him seeking your seal of approval. In that moment you have transcended being a mere audience member, into being part of what will almost certainly be the set of the night. The sheer euphoria you feel is exceptional. And then at the end, breathless, skin tingling and with a grin on your face from ear to ear, you feel as though every drop of energy has been sucked right out of you, just like those few moments after one of the best orgasms of your life. Congratulations! Youve just been Whitbyd. (Full bio at www.andywhitby.com) Click here to have a taste what Whitby is about! Foreplay for this evening will come by way of the The Finishers - Ivy are proud to welcome it's latest banging tag team resident experience and they are promising to build on their amazing performance when roasting Paul Glazby in May! (come on they played both before and after Paul in May! ) This night will be banging and bouncing and also remember your 'Right Guard' as there will be a lot of hands in the air action! We're using a new venue for this night, its called 'Live' and is upstairs from the 'The Office' on Crown St, its just at the top of Windmill Brae. As usual we'll take control of the venue making sure the best Sound and lighting is in place for the event! Advance tickets will be 10 from One-Up and Ticketweb accessible via the link on the Ivy website Saturday 30th May, The Boardroom @ The Office, 7 Crown St. Tickets will available from One-Up or Ticketweb by clicking here Please note that this venue is slightly smaller than venues normally used by Ivy so it may be an idea to buy your ticket in advance. Headlining the main Tunnel we have Paul Glazby a name that has become ingrained within the hard house circuit. Hes been instrumental in its development, through his productions and his sheer untouchable talent. The founder of the Vicious Circle label that has dished out some of the biggest and most classic tracks that have filled dance floors across the land for over 6 years, no small. His production skills have never been less than phenomenal, from the word go with his initial release Dreams, which was licensed to Sony/Virgin records and reached the top 30 in official UK sales, he has consistently added to the hard dance bible. Some of the most memorable include Beautiful, Hostile and a track which has been synonymous with the closing set of the Tidy Weekenders, Kick It. Theres a long list of legendary sets that Paul has performed that are ingrained in the minds of us all. Closing sets at Insomniacz, as we mentioned before the Tidy Weekender but he has also headlined at the biggest nights across the UK including Frantic, Sundissential, Polysexual, Goodgreef and Storm. Not forgetting the festival circuit! Paul has been part of the hugely successful Global Gathering, Creamfields, Gatecrasher Summer Sound System and of course the world-renowned Dance Valley. So to conclude, his albums such as I Love VC, Hard Dance Republic and TW9 Live have sold thousands, 10 consecutive releases on VC within his Ten Commandments each one becoming the bench mark for other producers standards. Releases on Tidy, Nukleuz, Tripoli Trax and his world wide tours through-out his career can mean nothing else but that Paul Glazby remains one of the leaders within our industry today.
