  1. Thanks to everyone who played and attended this. It is a shame there wasnt a bigger crowd and a lot of people didnt seem to get that they could move between the rooms when one band finished but for us, it was still a very enjoyable evening and hopefully this kind of thing of using both rooms at the same time can become a more regular thing. Thanks also to Scott, Jenny and Rob for doing a great job with the sound.
  2. Times are: 8pm - The Locals (Room 1) 8.30 - Kitchen Cynics (Room 2) 9 - The Hijacks (1) 9.30 - Debutant (2) 10 - Which Way Now (1) 10.30 - Vesuvian (2) 11 - The Tijuana Sun (1) 11.30 - Katerwaul (2)
  3. If anyone is interested in DJing at the event feel free to get in touch. Action will kick off early with all the acts to squeeze in so dont miss out!
  4. What time will this finish? I am working until 10pm, so by time I got down it'd be closer to quarter to 11. Would there still be much to see?

  6. More discs in One-Up today! Apologies to anyone who has been in to find there has not been any. We underestimated the amount of people who would be picking them up but we shall we shall keep a more constant supply of them around the town from now on.
  7. Oops, never leave enough it seems. Will bring lots down by the end of the week. 8-)
  8. Yep plenty left. Will bring some down to the Magik Markers on Friday so you can get one then
  9. From today's Daily Record: "It's free and proves that it's not only Fife, Glasgow and Edinburgh has all the talent. Album opener, The Little Kicks' Don't Give Up So Easily, proves why they are are on the list of Scotland's best new acts. Don't Give Up So Easily has the breezy ramshackle beauty of Babyshambles at their best. Eddison's great synth rock Killer Scene tune is one we already know about. Fiction/Action's Missing Control is a blend of Bauhaus and raw emo angst, while Flaming Katy's A Shot At Glory is a twitching new wave belter. Other highlights include the Ska-influenced The Saint & The Satan from The Phoenix Band while Level Four's Furtherance ends the album with a swirl of rock pop. The FREE album is out now" - Rick Fulton
  10. For anyone who would like a copy but is never in town, you can get a copy from our myspace page MySpace.com - Granite City Records - UK - Pop / Rock / Indie - www.myspace.com/granitecityrecordsuk via paypal. All we ask is 1 for postage costs
  11. Yep so far it's available in Drummonds, One-Up and Kilau but it'll be in a lot more places soon.
  12. Haha, no we are certainly not well off, although probably eccentric. We received help from Aberdeen City Council with funding for the project so that were able to give them away free and money from the launch night covered all costs and left some more towards re-press. For us, there was so many promising acts that we wanted to share with people in Aberdeen that obviously like music yet for one reason are unaware of and of course to people outside of Aberdeen. Already at least 5 bands from the compilation have benefited by receiving radio airplay from I believe 4 different stations and we hope that number will increase in the next couple of weeks too. Because the CD is free, there is nothing to lose by people hearing it and the variety of bands will hopefully get people interested in other genres within the local scene too. There is possible plans to work with individual bands releases but right now it is early days so we just want to push this as much as possible. For those of you that weren't at the launch (and thanks to that were, it was a great night), the CD is currently available from Cafe Drummonds and we aim to get in many different shops, bars, venues etc within the city in the next week!
