  1. Thanks guys, glad it seems to be going down well We're playing at the Tunnels on Saturday night if anyone is interested
  2. Ha! I'm not sure if this is good for the other teams in the league or not. Definitely looked like their title bid was coming off the tracks. Then again, if the best they've got up their sleeves is Ian McCall...

    Weekend

Tonight - Work Saturday - Raith Rovers away, then home to read for an essay. Work at night. Sunday - Writing an essay for Monday. If we lose, it'll be a terrible weekend.
  4. Thanks a lot, guys! Aye, it's certainly heavier than our previous stuff; we had to ship a lot of the older tunes after the keyboard vanished, but I think it's given us a bit of a kick up the arse and there's a bit more energy and drive about us that we've maybe lacked in the past. Keep it coming, y'all.
  5. Dora is some tune. I love this sound that you've honed, with that sort of slightly filthy, scuzzy, dancey indie quality. It's good stuff. It's been blaaaady ages since I've seen you live, I'll have to get on it.
  6. Alreet. We've been busy writing and recording some new songs over the past few months, and we've now put one up on myspace for your perusal, entitled This Is My Empire. It's quite a departure from our previous stuff, so any feedback/comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Headlight on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads
  7. Mine is a cunning merger between my nickname, 'Stich' and my gender. Someone had already taken 'Stich', you see. Probably me.

    Gigs

After a good 6 month break, we're back with a couple of gigs. Get in. 27th March - Tunnels - This one is in support of the magnificent A Genuine Freakshow, with Right Hand Left and The Form also playing. As I say, it's our first gig in quite a while and we'll be showcasing some new material so please do come on down. 11th April - Pivo Pivo, Glasgow - At long last we're gigging elsewhere, with the tasty Esperi and We Break Mirrors. If anyone happens to be down that way, give me a Pm and I'll hook you up witha ticket
  9. Headlight will be debuting no less than THREE new songs at this gig. I know you're all excited.
  10. Lucky. They better have plenty of Scottish dates up their sleeves for the summer.
  11. Pretty good stuff, really. I like the music muchly, and the vocal harmonies and such are really quality. The lead singer's voice sort of irritates me, though, and I'm not mad on some of the lyrics. Otherwise, I like it. You releasing anything? I'd buy it.
  12. I think they're great. Musically they're extremely accomplished, and the songs sound better live, which can only ever be a good thing. I think they are one of the best live bands that I've seen around these parts. They have an ear for a cracking melody, too.
  13. Forgot about them. We played with them years ago, in one of those hilariously mis-matched Tunnels gigs you play on a Tuesday night when you're 15 and rubbish. I quite liked them and bought an EP which was mainly average but had some very good punky pop songs on it. Wonder what happened to them.
  14. Farewell Singapore have a female vocalist, and also happen to be a very good band. Have a swatch Farewell Singapore(EP on ITUNES NOW!) on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads

How do you imbed these into a track? Is it straightforward? Is there much point in doing it if you are going to self-release CDs?
  16. Square 9 is possibly my favourite FR song. Genius.
  17. It certainly isn't at the same level as Midnight Organ Fight, which immediately hit me as one of the best albums I've ever heard. I've given Winter of Mixed Drinks a good few listens, and I'm still undecided. I think Things, The Wrestle and Footshooter are standouts songs; I maintain that the two singles they've released thus far are very average. As a whole, it just doesn't capture the imagination like their previous records, but I'm still willing to believe it's a slow-burner. Interesting about the FatCat stuff. I didn't think they'd really be the kind of label to get involved, but apparently the band was told by the label that 'Nothing Like You' was going to be the single, and were forced into making that pishy, identikit video for it. Rubbish.
  18. Aye, Sing the Greys was their first, but they consider it to be more like a collection of demos rather than an album proper. They're wrong, though. It's an insanely good album; a lot more raw and less lyrically powerful than MOF, but still very good.
  19. That word always just reminds me of the gloriousness of this song
  20. I was there too. Mainly being infuriated by the boy infront of me, who just kept going on about how amazing Hutton was, despite the fact he was having a pretty terrible game. I thought he was just mince; first half especially. Depressingly, I can't really think of anyone to pick who played well, it was just a big blue wash of mediocrity. Still, it's important to get the foundations righ, and the first thing any international manager has to do is make his team hard to beat. I think better football will follow. Agreed that Boyd looked tasty when he came on. I hope he gets played from the start in our home gamed, where he could be a massive threat. Anyway, if we win all our qualifying games 1-0 but play poorly, I'd obviously take that all day long.
  21. Is is strange that I have absolutely no idea where my grandparents were born?
  22. What does 'Ace-ic' mean? I don't get it.
  23. I stayed in a very nice wee hotel in La Defense last time I was there. Got it dirt cheap through one of these hotel booking sites; the room was just exactly what you need for a short stay, and there was a beautiful wee garden where you could sit and eat your breakfast in the morning. La Defense itself is pretty interesting for a wander, and there's a metro just nearby Hotels La Defense Paris | Hotel Le Dauphin in La Defense Paris | Hotels near La Defense Paris Pretty much anywhere is sure to have decent hotels though, just avoid the more 'touristy' areas, because prices skyrocket.
