Hi all, I was wondering if there are any male singers on this site who are intrested in joining a new theatre group in Aberdeen? Our current project is Notre Dame de Paris in concert. We have a good production team behind us and are in need of 2 strong male singers. Our MD is a Mr Ian Duguid. The show is due to be preformed at the end of May so fast learners are preferable but not essentail. lol i would join but Im not so hot on those bands styles Im afraid sounds a great idea though.

Im also a female vocalist. Good luck with band search. I used to be in that style of band but it fell apart too quickly. now trying lower regester stuff cause Ive gotten lazy lol. If your aiming for evanesancy/ nightwishy style though make sure you get a good keyboardist. we tried without and it sounded crappy. its also an idea to get someone who can program a keyboard so you can put your vocals on to harmonise with yourself. Let me know how you get on. Its great to see other girls trying to give the lads some competition!

Hello, Im currently looking to set up a band. My problem is Im usually always left being the only female in the thing so I decided to put out an ad looking specificly for female musicians. By this I mean bass players guitarists and drummers. Keyboardists aswell if there are any out there! I myself am a vocalist and I also write lyrics. Although I say Im looking for females I would be open for anyone to contact me. If we are really stuck my boyfriend is a guitarist (and bass player although for some reason hes less motivated to pick up his bass than his guitar) and Im sure I could rope him in. Meatloaf has been considered a rock legend thanks to teh fact that his Album bat out of hell is one of teh best selling albums of all time so they will sell him for as much as they can cause they know they are almost certain of a sell out just because of teh name. The other band you mentioned is lesser known. You have to be into the scene before you would reconise them. so because hey know there not sure it will be sell out stuff they keep ticket prices lower to drag people in. Thats why and ye I do agree it is wrong

my main problem is differenciating between classical and romantisist. I would recomend taking a book out of the liabary.

Well my boyfriend and I have talked and talked about posting to try and set up a new band after my last brain child tragicly died a death. Basicly Im looking for musicains with an open mind (Im an design student and music theatre student so needless to say Im not keen on conforming with the local scene too much...) It would be nice to see more girl musicians seeing as last few bands Ive set up Ive been the only girl or rather the only girl who wasnt there for display purposes only. Men feel free to audition too this is just a kinda callout wondering if there are any females out there. Sorry Im rambling again.... Idealy we are looking for a small group of people to form this band as we have discovered having high numbers of memebers is a nightmare! I personally am a vocalist. But I wouldnt mind having an extra vocalist to bounce off of providing they are powerful enough vocally. My boyfriend is a guitarist. We are have both obtained grades in our instrument and both seeking diploma status in them. (Well i currently am heading for my ALCM in Janurary where as he is waiting till the next sitting.) what we would like idealy is a bass player and a drummer but we are willing to hear any sort of instrument as we are as of yet not swayed into a singular style so anyone feel free to contact. Keyboarists, violinists (ooo actully violin would sound beautiful with him on accoustic guitar... sorry Im putting in my bit again lol) ect ect ect yours Marie

personally I like country music. Goodluck with finding people. I was thinking of trying to set up a country band aswell. Im a female vocalist but Im not sue my voice will carry well as I know for country female voices can be grating after a while. Best of luck anyways.

what sort of melodic rock are you looking at? like nightwish or a bit heavier than that?

As of yet we are still setting up but are lacking the percusion side of things (a drummer) The theme of the band is jack the Ripper and anyone intrested must be willing to dress up. This is open to male or females. We are idealy looking for someone aged between 17-30 Our line up thus far is 2 guitars a bass player a keyboardist and a vocalist Our style so far is aimed to be pretty varied... anyone intrested feel free to email me or message me on this site my email is marspunkangel@hotmail.com

Thanks for the replies. New and exciting news (well for me) my singing tutor has agreed to help out with this project and said he is even willing to play in it should i want him to. I have had alot of responces and will be talking to my tutor later today. Hopefully i can get a room arranged to meet those who got back to me and inform you all next week on a time and place. If anyone cant make it please inform me and i will try to arrange a different time to suit you.

well basicly I got the idea watching alice cooper videos thinking tahts a great idea to turning a rock show into a stage show, if it could be done on a lesser scale it would make a great act that I would love to go see... dont think it do it! lol Anyways yes basicly my first idea is to sort out the music before thinking to deeply into the act bar to say that Im using my expeirence in stage to think up quirky things so as after establishing the personalities of the musicains I can get them in a character thats easy for them to portray (or rather there own character) For the whole idea to work you really need to know the type of people i the band. Obviously you cant have a shyish person pretending to be the evil sadistic in your face person. the character wouldnt work but if you had him/ her as a more silent possibly quite sinister shadowy person where there are a bit of a mystery and your just not quite sure of them it can work. as i say acting isnt the main concern lol

Thanks i will let you know how things progress hopefully lol my ideas with jack the ripper are very much part of a small intrest I have in ripperology. I find the case quite fasinating on many levels.

Hello my name is Marie Im a 19 year old vocalist with theatrical expeirence in singing. I have tried to set up a band for many years but i had a sudden idea last year of setting up a band as a preformance based band (mainly involing costume and portraying a character) Acting is a secondary thing. It doesnt mater too much on how good at acting you are. Vision: A band that has a jack the ripper feel to it. Age: 18-28 looking for: any of the following- drummer guitarist-possibly sorted should he agree bassist rythem guitarist- possibly sorted should he agree keyboardist- sorted (if you can singing backing vocals all the better but i dont really want to have separate backing singers if possible) influences: anything and everything. I ,however, do not sing grunge.
