  1. Fuckall to do with owls but I always find this one funny. Top quality photoshop opportunties.
  2. Hammock - Longest Year Spiritualized - Sweet Heart Sweet Light
  3. Still on the hunt for a drummer. If it's any incentive there will be plenty of football chat and we like to laugh at Rangers. Interested?
  4. I was discussing this with my brother yesterday. I think these days with the current state of the Scottish game it is just a far more attractive option to move down south even if it means not playing games each week. Our top flight is in a bit of turmoil with the SPL members at loggerheads with league restructuring, one of the biggest teams is in danger of going bust and the football isn't really that great. To me it then becomes a question of whether first team football here is better than the facilities, coaching and attention they will receive from clubs down in England.
  5. My band By The Weekend are looking for a new drummer. We play indie-rock influenced by Doves, The Smiths, Blur etc. A full set of songs are written and a rough demo can be heard on our Facebook page. The plan will be to get up to speed asap and begin gigging in and out of Aberdeen every so often. A full recording was also in the pipeline so hopefully we can pick that up again. The remaining two members are around 30 but we're happy to be flexible about age and just hoping to get someone who will fit in with an interest in the type of music we play. Being able to do backing vocals would be a big help as well but not essential.
  6. Sigur Ros - Inni Pretty good but thought it would be a bit better to be honest. Still to watch the DVD mind you.
  7. I've only done a couple of one off cover gigs and they were actually really good fun. Not something I'd want to do for anything more than one gig at a time but they're good for a bit of a laugh and playing songs you wouldn't normally get a chance to play. I sometimes attempt to think of names for tribute/covers bands without actually wanting to form one though. Stereophonies and The Disguiser Chiefs are two favourites just now. Geezer is a good one, wish I had thought of that.
  8. They like their dodgy numbers down at Ibrox.
  9. I'd be at Latitude if i could afford it this year but got it earmarked for next. Always a really good line up there. I'd also recommend Snowbombing in Austria for something a bit different. Boarding through the day and gigs at night, way too much fun! 2010 was brilliant and had bands like Doves, De La Soul and Friendly Fires but they made it pretty much a dance festival last year, which kind of changed it and can't say it was as good. Being able to watch bands in places like pine forests, igloos and at the top of mountains has its own novelty though.
  10. Been to Belladrum a couple of times and it is a tidy wee festival so well worth a thought. Really good atmosphere and aimed at families so always fairly chilled out. If you're after a small festival then The Wickerman is worth a thought although it takes a while to get there as it is in Dumfries. Lineup is always reasonably good for the size of it and they burn a giant wickerman at the end, which is nice. I'm off to Isle of Wight this year and the line up for that one is a cracker. Not been before but one of my pals has and he raves about it so really looking forward to that one. Why isn't Wizard happening this year? Was going to go along to that one this year.
  11. I wouldn't either. Evander Sno who used to play for Celtic had a heart attack whilst playing for Ajax and he is back playing. The odds must be stacked well against Muamba but I think it will be a case of what caused his illness determining whether he can play again.
  12. Bruce Springsteen - Wrecking Ball The Shins - Port of Morrow
  13. I can waste entire days doing this. In fact, its not a waste at all as football knowledge is the best kind of knowledge. Myself and Shaki often discuss ex-Dons players we recently Wikipedia'd...who'd have thought Nicolas Fabiano would have gone into such obscurity.
  14. I'd actually say Lennon's manner on the touchline and in interviews has greatly improved since last season. I think it is fair to assume he made the effort to wind it in after the threats and bad publicity. He certainly could have been more gracious in defeat towards Killie as I think they did themselves proud by making it a good game and going on to win. Did anyone else think John Hartson was the one with sour grapes though? He just seemed to constantly refer to Killie as lucky and seemed more concerned about backing up Celtic than giving credit where it was due. Fair enough Celtic missed a few chances but Killie had the ball cleared off the line, had a couple of saves from Forster and Shiels missed an effort that was easier to score. Shame for the lad whose Dad collapsed after the game. Awful stuff for him.
  15. Where did you see that? Hope it's correct.
  16. I was trying to remember his name the other day as a clip came on during the Dons cup game of him scoring and doing that ridiculous goal celebration where he stands in front of the crowd and waves his arms around like he is doing shite semaphore. If he still does it he needs to give himself a talking to. And football stats are ace! I'm having a good play on that site later.

I enjoyed that. What software/equipment did you use for it?
  18. Yes, he did. So the budget Hearts, whose owner also controls the budget huns, beat the actual huns.
  19. Romanov has two clubs as well with Hearts and Kaunas. The benefits of this seem to be when a paedophile plays for one team and you can ship him off to the other until the dust settles. Handy that.
  20. I read on a Rangers message board yesterday someone claiming they only went into administration after the transfer window closed so the administrators couldn't strip them of all their good players. Comedy gold those message boards.
  21. I'm interested in seeing how the voting system, particularly with the financial side of things, is going to work. As you mentioned this could act as the leveller Scottish football need to allow the clubs outwith the OF to become more competitive if they can get a larger control of how to distribute revenues. It's going to be a seriously dodgy period with the clubs being too reliant on the OF and being so hand to mouth with money but if we can see through the next two or three years without any casualties then it could be a better situation in the long term. Or maybe I'm being optimistic and we're all in the shitter. Either way, Rangers can fuck right off.
  22. The article Hugh_Jazz posted on the previous page gives a pretty good idea of what they can expect. All seems to be dependent on the results of the tax case but as they've taken these measures I think it would be safe to assume they have caught wind at least part of it is getting called in. If they are required to pay the full amount then it will be very likely that'll be the end of yer Rangers. According to the article on the Scotsman site that is the likeliest outcome.
  23. Here you go Aberdeen Music. http://news.stv.tv/scotland/west-central/297387-rangers-to-go-into-administration/
  24. Booking tickets for the Isle of Wight Festival.
  25. I read that in the paper today, interesting stuff. Assuming they get done over in the courts, I wouldn't be surprised if the SPL members allow Rangers to stay in the league for the sake of preservation and safeguarding revenues and sponsorships. What a great chance for the clubs outwith the Old Firm to reorganise the structure and the voting system for the long term benefit of the league though.
