  1. I had her on my list 1 year but took her off; partly because it seemed like she'd live forever (like the King of Thailand...) and partly because I'd only heard of her because of this thread. Just glad Bigsby didn't have her either!
  2. Also don't have it on Android. Just to rub it in. Or maybe it's a not-Poland thing. Possibly using a browser rather than the app, like Kirsten does?
  3. Sad about that one. Largely because he'd signed on for my 2017 squad.
  4. Edit (I tried to really edit the post above, but you know, 5 second rule or whatever it is) Aw shucks (or rather, I just remembered another old user name): Keeno (last post 2014?) used to talk about medical studies [?], and more importantly custom guitars from (real) Poland or Hungary or somewhere, and first lead me to some cool Djent bands (definitely Monuments anyway). And the posts of KarmaTsunami and Ca_gere are always GBOL. So there! Legit top 5!
  5. This is a serious one? I got two: Stripey/Striphy (although for the record I agreed with his eventual ban and thought he went totally off the rails in the months leading up to it) Le_Stu - (I had to do a whole 15m or so site searching to nail down the user name - last post 2012, so this isn't going to be a top 5). The guy who had some interesting tales of working under a Ned-Flanders-alike while smashed on on medical wed in Cali.
  6. (no, I'm not picking one over the other) I don't eat many sweets In Poland these days, and had forgotten the existence of the Bueno, Maltesers and Bounty until I saw some of the posts above. So honourable mentions to Dimes, Double Deckers, Whispas and Dairy Milk Hazlenuts, which I'd thought about beforehand.
  7. Sad. Very sad. I'm still wondering whether the CIA finally managed to Fidel with one of Castro's cigars though...
  8. I'm not 100% sure I've got what you're saying with that, but: I think you're saying that Trump siding with Assad and Russia is both common sense and against what he said in the election campaign? It's not. The guy has flaunted his infatuation with Putin his whole campaign (as well as his hatred of deash, fair enough). He has been called a stooge (I believe more precisely "useful idiot") of Putin by both mainstream commentators and former top intelligence personnel (and then there are the issues, which I won't even touch, that Putin's regime may have been "in touch" during his campaign, and that Putin's hackers targeted the Democrats, in that knife-edge contest). As for common sense, Obama has opposed both daesh (and other Islamist militias) and Assad, while refusing to directly intervene militarily (I won't get into it again, but the crossing of Obama's "red line", that is the use of chemical weapons, and then Obama doing nothing). The first I would regard as "common sense", the latter being a total, and dangerous, wuss. Anyway there are not even third but forth parties in Syria, those being misc. secular forces and the Kurds respectively. The West should (and up to now, is - witness the rebuke by the EU, following the bombing of a red cross convoy, of all things, recently) oppose both daesh and the Assad regime (and by extension Russia), either nominally and indirectly via materiel support (which I think is the "common sense" minimum, and has been the case up to now) or militarily, in the (minimum; and IMO "common sense") form of air strikes and no-fly zones (which Cameron, in one of his redeeming moments, tried to enact; and that Clinton, as Secretary of State, suggested, and, as president, might have executed). Even from an ice-cold, fuck-everyone-else realist position, this approach pisses-off Turkey - SLIGHT issue there, which is why I don't think it's "common sense". TLDR: what are you actually saying?; and if I'm correct in reading what you're saying, then you're plain wrong.
  9. Derek Trucks. I think that's about all I have to add...
  10. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/leonard-cohen-dead-at-82-w449792
  11. I've already seen the Buchan Observer's headline "Aberdeenshire business owner wins presidential election" on fb, so there's that. Otherwise, varying possibilities of bad; although I don't think Trump will (be able to) turn the US into the 3rd Reich any more than Obama was able to turn into somewhere where everyone is equal and prosperous (or where black people need not fear overly about the police shooting them, or everyone has access to first-world standard health care, even). And the guy can't change the demography he and his supporters seem to hate that much. It's going to be a shit four years both economically and geopolitically, though. My reaction by this point is, just, fine, build that wall, and see how that goes. And I'm just wondering (echoing HMW about) whether in fours years those contesting Trump (from whichever side, and assuming he lasts that long) will be arguing "OK, so we tried the mentalist xenophobia and autarky thing, and it doesn't work, so..." or "listen, I'm going to be the one to really build that wall, and really make every thing great again; because Trump, he compromised just that little bit, and look how shit everything's been."
  12. And "control". Fucking love control. Democratic control obviously. Democratic control on behalf of the will of the people you understand.
  13. Amazing rhetoric from Farange and Suzanne-who-the-fuck-Evans today. Democracy, separation of the powers? No. this is about the "sovereignty of the British people" (Farange) and the "Judges should come under some sort of democratic control" (Evans). They should've been politicians here in the Socialist Paradise of Poland; here (and in China) the party loves that "centralised democracy", "will of the people" and total lack of judicial and parliamentary independence shit.
  14. A majority of MPs have always been against the leave vote, and the whole argument for parliament getting a debate and now (and not the whole argument, in this case) an act was that MPs are elected to represent their constituents on a broad range of issues and from there those MPs as collective (Parliament) call the shots. Like Stroopy hinted at, I think just as big an issue is how extreme May's position has been and that there has already been economic fallout that has hit the Proper British People (Marmite!). 48% of voters wanted to stay in the EU. Of the 52% who voted out, some perhaps wanted ALL OUT AT ANY COST; many wanted all the benefits without free movement of people/labour (which they see, now, that they will not get; this is maybe the biggest issue); some wanted the Norway Option without understanding what the Norway situation actually is (again maybe just the previous point). Which I think my put the dampers on how many constituents feel the stand to lose over a Brexit opposition.
  15. I had a slow first 6 months (probably not even a dozen finished) and but have been reading a lot (more books) the last few. I'm at 38; should hit 50 again.
  16. Aduladead? (best I can do) http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-37643326 My joker for god knows how many years, but now I've checked, not for this one >_< Still on the team though,
  17. http://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2016/10/08/national/media-national/nagoya-boring-city-japan/#.V_ofybWlilN So I wasn't wrong about Nagoya.
  18. Hanoi Hannah. http://www.newsweek.com/hanoi-hannah-vietnam-propaganda-dies-87-505704
  19. "Animals" is a bit vague. Sharks; other fish; birds; frogs; DINOSAURS! (wait, I could have the birds with them, and get one more - let's say cephalopods.) No? Sharks, great whites particularly. A+ for everything. Some might knock a bit off vibe for them being a tad impersonable, but not I. I think I'll sneak goblins and megamouths in here, though they're cool for slightly different reasons. Octopuses. Great Pacific ones if I have to pick. A+ for everything. Pangolins. A+ for aesthetic and vibe. Maybe not the greatest on power but they do have green scaly plate armour. Someone actually made a suit of armour from them, for some emperor, once. Legit game of thrones. I mean come on. Bonobos. (the better chimp species) A+ for vibe and solid aesthetic: basically a human but better - less murderous, more chilled, more sex, and they respect women. High marks for power, too, probably; presumably they could tear you limb from limb even if they wouldn't. Giant squid. High marks for everything; bonus points for mystery appeal, like the goblin and megamouth sharks.
