  1. any links to news sites about this? I'd be interested to read the outcome of the French guy. Sounds pretty crazy!
  2. So it's up to us to decide if it's your greatest song-writing achievement you've ever recorded, according to you...? I mean, sure, I think it's the best thing I've ever thought you've written about song-writing from you.
  3. I thought the Icarus Line were good, but not nearly as good as the last time I saw them (2005, I think). I only really came to see them and got talking to a few of the guys afterwards, but the singer, Joe cardamone, was trying to seduce a young girl with big boobs and luring over her like a zombie, so I left. Saw a little bit of lemonHeads and was pretty unimpressed. Didn't really know what to expect, but having a member of Black Flag in their setup, I guess I expected something a little more balls-ay. Only thing that annoyed me of the whole night were the latchy audience at the front for Lemonheads who seemed to see Evan Dando as some kind of Messiah, hanging and cheering like everything they were playing an arena and everythign the were playing was sheer gold. Probably just naive kids.
  4. Because people eat their food from British supermarkers and British farmers provide this to the shops. Sadly, our country's food industry is so money-driven that, when you buy a sandwich and expect in it what you can see, the fact is that you're not seeing all the shitty substitues that essentially keep that minking piece of bread latched to its dubious innards. In this country, it's been found out through investigative journalists, that off-date unsaleable left-over chicken is blasted with a chemical concoction to preserve it's from borderline fustiness and then it can be marketed again as fresh chicken, which is an ideal ingredient ideal in a ready meal - something in this country that has become increasingly popular and probably will continue into the future, unabated. The food industry in UK has become more lucerative in profit than selling crack cocaine.
  5. This thread was quite funny in 2004 until people started getting psychopathic and evil Dervish with the guy and hounded him into irreversible depression that's lasting two too many years. Probably should leave him alone before he goes out in a blaze of glory. I don't know the guy but would like to see this thread being permanently closed.
  6. I can sell you a Rolex, mate. It has 13 hands on the face so occasioanlly its 13:65, but it's still a genuine Rolex
  7. Pretty simple thread really. If you know of a bargain, or are looking for a bargain, then tell us where we can get it! Receive I'm looking for Innocent or other tasty smoothies to drink and would like to know if anyone knows of somewhere I can get some. Give If you like Red Devil energy drinks, Costco in Westhill are doing 24 packs from 4.99. EDIT: 17/05/07 Shell Petrol station just off the Bridge of Don in Seaton are doing their V-Max fuel for 93.9p per litre fro anyone that likes that sort of thing.
  8. I can't say I've really had much of a problem with other drivers on the road, except the fumes. when you're tackling a steep hill in rush-hour traffic, it's pretty shitty when you're inhaling quite a bit of exhaust per gulp of air. That's all I have to say about that. If only all the rush-hour traffic roads could be converted to industrial-style conveyer belts that somehow seamlessly integrate with junctions, I could be cycling home at 40mph!
  9. I've been commuting to Dyce from near Belhelvie and I've reason to believe it would be more environmentally-friendly if I were to juts drive in my economical Fiat Punto. It's not the exhaust fumes that really make me comes to this conclusion - because for 136g/km, that's not too bad - but more the other road users. Essentially, I'm in the way almost all of the time. Drivers need to assess their speed with my speed with oncoming traffics' speed and most of the time they slow down, sometimes even to my speed (12mph). In order to pass me - when the opportunity arises, they have to accelerate and get back to their origninal or most comfortable speed (50 - 65mph) and I think that's where the worst offending pollution arises. Well, that and the power shower I have when I get to work. I guess if there were proper cycle lanes and what not then the figure would match up, but as is it, it's a little worse for me to cycle than drive, environmentally speaking.
