  1. I've only read Porno...and thought it was absolute drivel, stooping to the lowest common denominator for shock value... liked some the stories in Acid House though. Never made it through Trainspotting the book as I can't really read..8-)

  2. As long as he tells you he's done it. I know that when I finally could afford the Waves platinum suite, I put every single thing I had ever recorded through it then sent the new masters to the respective owners free of charge.

There's nothing wrong with re-doing stuff with better quality equipment to get a higher quality end result. As long as you don't mess with the original artistic intentions of the composers.

Wait till you can afford the Waves SSL plugins...you'll want to redo everything with it!! They're fantastic and really give everything a punchy sound.

But shit....then when you have the cash for the Waves API plugs you'll be remixing everything again :D They're fantastic and really give everything a warm sound.

What about reverbs? RVerb sounded great...but then IK released CSR, with one of the best emulated plate sounds...vocals can now get that crispiness you were lacking...

The plugs are just going to keep getting better as time goes on, and the software is getting more powerful, as well as the PC's, there needs to come a time when you shelf a mix and say its finished! ;):band: At least until the band want a fucking 5.1 mix....

  3. I wouldn't waste your time with the DVD. Besides Dick Lucas' amusing intro it really lacks any substance and if certainly wouldn't turn anyone onto anarcho punk.

Interestingly, Amebix also appear to have had many problems over rights with Southern Records, and seem to have rectified this now in light of the death of John Loder. I just wonder how quick it was before they jumped on his grave though...

  4. I was going to comment, but I don't want no identity theft guv, so I won't.

Maybe we're just paranoid (or something else) but that was my first thought too!

It's not hard to determine most people's real names on this board. Then a quick digging up of old posts will discover what school you went to. Then thanks to friends reunited you can find what years you were at the school and probably work out the date of birth from there, and then working backwards you can find the first primary school you went to, determine city you were born in, before you know it, you have all the answers you need to complete a security check on someone!

This is why (to my banks bemusement) I phone up with a new maiden name for my mother, a new city I was born in, a new school I went to etc etc....every other month

These are crazy times my friend. Stay alert :gringo:

  5. Came in the post today! Amazing! First time I've heard this album and first time hearing most of these songs in their original studio versions...."As high as you can go" and "a person isn't safe anywhere these days" have just become my favourite songs, such good versions...sound quality is magic aswell. Especially of the live CD! Highly recommended!!:up:
