  1. I reckon that would start off cool but by Thursday you'd be like "urgh, fucking don't want to go home. Cloughie's round for dinner again"

    2013/2014 Season

That's pretty good that they're refunding the cost of the Killie game if you buy a season ticket. There's no doubt that the atmosphere is better with fans packed in the lower tier. With regards the comment about 13000 fans - I think it's definitely something to celebrate given the state of the game and attendances over the past 10 or so years. We're totally going to win everything.

    2013/2014 Season

Pittodrie was rocking on Saturday. Part of me hoped that my usual pre-season optimism would be dashed early so I could just live my life without the depressing interruption of Scottish Fitba but after thumping Killie 2-1 I'm all about the Dons again. It's even brought me back to Aberdeen-Music. I guess I'll shelve my novel for another year. I think the decision to close the top tier of the Dick Donald really helped with the atmosphere. I don't know if this is a knock on effect but I bought a ticket in advance (as advised by AFC website) for the South Stand, got to Pittodrie at 14:50 and then queued for >20 minutes just to pick it up. SORT IT OOT AIBERDEEN! But generally, the team is looking good and hopefully all those fans will come back regularly.

    Pet Hates!

Facebook shite of this variety... You know you grew up in the 19xx's if you remember: - things that were on TV then and their sequential order - bands that were popular then - fashion crazes that were popular then - celebrities who were famous then but are no longer famous - toys that were popular then - the technology of the time (in our day we didn't have [some thing that people have now]) - Some item of confectionery being a lot cheaper then than it is now - things that happened then So true, lol. tag your sister etc. Shite.

  6. They do say that as you get older you are more in tune with mortality...
  7. Gonad is a real medical term. I always thought "gonads" was slang like "plums" or "steens". I didn't do biology at school.
  8. I haven't done anything of note since 'Three Men and a Little Lady'. Still, I get by.
  9. Most football fans are morons.
  10. Will this herald the return of Ricky Foster? I'm struggling to care about football at the moment. Aberdeen and Scotland SUX

    Pet Hates!

The expression "don't be that guy" or "I'm not that guy, that ain't me". It's becoming more popular. I'm calling it early.
  12. I've been absent a lot over the past 6 months. Just hit the mobile site for the first time. Really nice. Well done all.
  13. I really like Won't Set Me Free. Something in both songs reminds me of Bob Mould. I think it's the vocal melody or something. Mix sounds about right in both. Good effort lads.
  14. Except on Tuesdays which are Rotary night. Oh wait, this isn't the stalking thread is it?
  15. Thanks for all your advice. That's me set up with everything now and I frequently referred to this thread. I got a Marantz amp, Marantz turntable, TEAC CD player and Morduant Short speakers. All sounds pretty fucking good.
  16. New America is the only blot on their copy book in my opinion. They got Todd Rundgren to produce it because Graffin was a big fan and according to the band he was a bit of a tool. They do have the same formula but it's one I love so I'm always happy. I'd recommend 'The Empire Strikes First' of their later stuff - post 9/11 and Iraq war anger. The best BR album in my opinion. Also looking forward to the new Eels record.
  17. I just generally like live music so have no problems with cover bands. I've got cover bands together for one off gigs a couple of times before and really enjoyed it. The performance aspect - the thrill of playing live with other people and generally letting loose in front of people who are digging it - gives me a buzz. The ready made songs mean you can skip the months of writing and get a set together very quickly and get straight to the performance bit which is my favourite part of being in a band. Most people like hearing something they know and like and I'm no different - I've even seen myself going to the bar at a 'professional' gig announcing 'I da ken this een' - so if a cover band are playing good songs well then I'll enjoy it. I also like going to see original music being performed and writing my own stuff (by that I mean drumming to things my friends have written). It's a different kick you get out of performing your own songs. You're less likely to get people singing along but the compliments feel better afterwards and you can feel like a real artist (TM X Factor) rather than just a performer. They're two separate things each with their place. I'd rather hear a good band knocking out the Beatles and the Stones covers at a wedding than a good band playing they're own stuff that I don't know. I'd rather go and see an original band playing at the Tunnels if I fancied some live music on a Tuesday night than going to see a covers band.
  18. Confirm - prime stalk. Had I seen you the moment would be etched on my soul forever.
  19. People should not be allowed to fire rockets into built up areas. The cynic in me believes that this will never happen, though. I'm not that clued up on it either beyond the basic details and vague notions that I'm 'Team Palestine' and generally against the music of Marillion. Really I'm just against murder and hopefully one day that will be a worldwide notion to which there is no argument because what is happening is fucking ridiculous. Oh yes, it's easy to say that from my comfortable two-bed flat with my middle class western upbringing and decent education and all that... I am much more aware of this particular episode because of posts I've seen on social media, albeit some of it ill informed and hastily shared. Maybe Facebook will be a force for good one day. Facebook and world peace - that's all we'll need.
  20. First 10/10 film I've watched in a long time... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1204340/ (Tyrannosaur)
  21. Terry has been doing really well on this show, his tracks have been top of the US iTunes rock chart a number of times and is in the last 12 (possibly down to fewer). The lad could always sing but he's absolutely amazing now and wowing the likes of Christina Aguilera and the bloke from Maroon 5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpmJBYpK-mE Stand Free.
