  1. I see the Iranians have been told the true cause of the world's current geological problems - saucy women! BBC News - Iranian cleric blames quakes on promiscuous women
  2. Another board has been encouraging members to submit limericks about this. I can't claim credit for any but I think they may need to be spread around: --- A heresy known as catholic encouraged altar-boy bumlick when they were found out they were known to shout 'Tis the gays and the general public' --- There once was a vicar from Tring Who talked about God and such things But his real desire Was a boy in the choir With buttocks like jelly on springs --- There was once a catholic priest Whose pole had never been greased You see, His pontif forbid That unless raping a kid his sperm was never unleashed. --- Is it Muslim or Hindu or Jew Who's behind all this hullabaloo? It's not that we're dodging The blame for this rogering (But j'accuse homosexuals too!) --- A priest broke a sexual taboo And it really caused quite a to-do When caught fucking kids He blamed it on yids And the pooftas and Satan too. --- Old Benedict turned a blind eye And shook his wise head with a sigh "Well, men wil be boys "And boys will be toys, "But we all will be saved when we die --- Its as if by some Papal decree Catholic clergymen seem to agree Their unhealthy desire For the boys in the choir Means the freedom to rape all they see. Course, they dont blame their celibate life Or the fact that they dont take a wife They prefer blaming gays For their own vile ways And then cry, Immoralitys rife! Now, the public is quite up in arms For we know whats abuse, and what harms But its nice that the church Has been left in the lurch And defrocked of its fairy-tale charms Yet the Vatican says, Like the Jews We are held in disdain for our views. With a Nazi in charge Theres an irony large Why not gas yourself, Ratty, and lose? --- There's a man who bounces boys on his penis He'll strum on their rectum With his knob as a plectrum Saying 'hey it's ok, I'm with Jesus' ---
  3. Yes, how the years take their toll. I was liable to be a lot more chemically challenged when seeing them back then.
  4. I am very much in two minds about this - Part of me wants to relive a good few old memories, whilst another part is warning me to stay well away. Which will it be.....?
  5. Homebrew, guys - homebrew! They can FUCK OFF trying to rehabilitate our insides and give us solid shites.
  6. There is a small and very basic campsite on the Glentanar Estate, between Aboyne and Balater, a nice spot by the river - We used to do parties there, which could handle a few hundred people and no neighbours to bother, with big bonfires too. Ask the ranger about using it. Not camped in Ballater itself for years but I remember there used to be a site by the river, just upstream from the bridge. You also used to be able to camp for free up by Fraser's Bridge on the Clunie Water (certainly up to 2 yrs ago), a couple of miles out of Braemar - on the ground in the right of shot, to a bit further downstream from the bridge. It is within walking distance of the town, via the golf course road (don't block it with vehicles). Never camped in the site in the town itself but I've never heard any great complaints about it.
  7. Yeah, first post and bigging-up the scum. Seen this in other places too - We can probably expect a load more of the cunts to pile-in soon.
  8. Oh.. God.. no.. please.. no..! o_O
  9. Yes there were. The writing was on the wall for a good while before but they managed to keep it going on a dribble of out of town/event trade. I also remember they made noises about taking-on the the then empty ABC Cinema (Site of Vue/Tiger Tiger) and moving the whole place into the city centre but the planners/licencing board killed that idea at an early stage. After that, it was only a matter of time.
  10. Nope - The bouncers could be cunts but I'd doubt there was enough people in for a fight. The place was dead on its feet. I was in the night before they closed and there must have been far more staff than customers TBH. It was already scheduled to close at the end of that month but I think they just cut their losses and shut it early.
  11. It might be worth waking-up again now the council seem to have plans for extending the charging times and introducing a flat fee for evening parking.
  12. Easilly. Have done in the past (for a lot longer) and maybe will do again. I appreciate a bit of time to myself occasionally.
  13. Not a picture I know but the mental pic conjured by this story does make me chuckle! Irishman urinated on French bread in protest at Henry handball http://newsfromireland.com/2010/01/irishman-urinated-on-french-bread-in-protest-at-henry-handball-court-told/
  14. Yes, you can get there via Perth. Did it a few years back. Still a long trip though. Expensive too IIRC, If there are two or more of you going, it might be seriously worth checking out a car rental package instead. Going via Coupar Angus Dunkeld, Aberfeldy & Crianlarich is the quickest route I've found by car from Aberdeen. Also some great places in and around Oban that are well worth a visit but public transport ain't that good. Some of the big hotels there did pretty good winter rates as well. Once met and got absolutely slaughtered with a BBC crew in that big hotel by the central roundabout. We started out by arguing over our filling the hotel's secure storeroom with our gear! Oh, check-out the Nevis Bakery when you are there - Steak pies to die-for!
  15. Not with the current economic situation and the stagnation of the airline biz. However, the writing has been on the wall for Globespan for a while now. I'm surprised they lasted this long TBH.
  16. Yes IMO - I've been a fan for years. Although I do accept that he has got more deliberately barking recently and personally his dryer and less flamboyant commentaries of a few years back were his best. Check out his "Abroad in Britain with", "Further Abroad with" & "Even Further Abroad with" series, plus his commentaries on various aspects of architecture eg "Jerry Building", "Travels with Pevsner" & "Magnetic North" - pretty regular rotation on BBC4 He also did a bloody good one-off on Edinburgh too. Look-out for that.
  17. Nope. Prestwick has hosted a US MATS base since 1952 till quite recently and despite its closure, they still route a variety of service flights and fueling there. Since they came into WW2 and all through the Cold War, Prestwick was a major transport hub for US forces in Europe. Nor do they use 747s for extrordinary rendition. Go and check out airliners.net for a surprisingly good list and photos of the lower profile aircraft chartered for that purpose. Where there is an airport, there is always a planespotter with a camera somewhere - they were on to this ages before anyone else ! IIRC ,they did record rendition flights through Prestwick at one point but using unmarked bizjets.
  18. Wirelessly posted (Vodafone/1.0/SEX1i/R1AA Opera/9.5 (Microsoft Windows; PPC; Opera Mobi/2141; U; UK) UP.Link/6.3.1.20.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1) Are they really talking about Mambos, ex Chaplins - the shithole/drug pit of Peterhead? Dear god! Good luck to anyone who plays there - I used to find the West End bad enough!
  19. Getting rid of the taxis might have been a better idea IMO, or simply making them pick-up from booked destinations only. Sticking the ranks on to Union St may have reduced the instances of bampots starting on folk in the queue but it has also increased the amount of danger on the roads as numerous taxis screech up and u-turn to get to the most profitable rank, whilst pissheads of all description staggger, stride and fall about the road as they try to reach the rank or surmount the near impossible task of actually getting into a vehicle. As for the wardens - They don't have any power to do a whole lot about any trouble and I do tend to rail aginst the idea that we should need to feel "protected" by some quasi-official private goon or other when out in public.
  20. CRB checks in general are pretty-much a waste of time TBH. The system is so badly managed and full of errors & backlogs, whilst ACPO have taken a lot of flack for running it as a for-profit monopoly venture for themselves. I refused to submit mine for work because the handbook appeared to give no way of challenging or filtering any results except through their lens and after a hellish couple of years in my past when the police pursued me hard for a couple of very serious offences before having to issue a full apology for chasing the wrong man & subjecting me to a load of truly illegal "investigation methods," I simply didn't trust them enough anyway and saw no reason to wake-up that unpleasantness all over again. Some years down the line, I'm still in my job, have been promoted and still occasionally work wirh kids.
  21. Not going to be able to go this year - Partly because I'll be coming back from holiday and because some fucker stole my bike the other week!
  22. I had a similarly inclined girlfriend once - One night, she rolled over, said the word "lugs" and headbutted me, hard. Try explaining that shiner the next day - she didn't believe me at first! o_O
  23. Also on the Tertowie bunker: Subterranea Britannica: Research Study Group: Sites: Alenon Link Although they have taken down a number of photos since I last looked - incl the ones that show you a likely way into it.
