  1. If you havent seen these guys yet they're well worth checking out!! They played at our charity fundraiser on Saturday night at The Tunnels and were absolutely fantastic!! Everyone in the crowd were speaking about them after the gig! People were comparing them to the sounds of Death n Vegas & Doves! Not sure whether they'd agree with that! You can check them out at www.myspace.com/thecityrises - definately something a bit refreshing from a local band!
  2. Indie/Rock night Charity Fundraiser in aid of Cornerstone Community Care Also featuring Djs Mr Yogi & Steven Milne!! Its all for a good cause!! So please show your support and enjoy some rocking entertainment for very very little!!!
  3. The Tonics kick off 2007 with a return to the underground, with plans already in motion to record in March and play throughout the UK later in 2007. With a lot riding on the success of this night the band are looking for your support to add some sunshine to the most depressing month of the year!! For regular updates, blogs, photos, and a sneak preview of our tunes and future gig dates check out the bands sites at; www.myspace.com/thetonicsscotland or www.thetonics.bebo.com
  4. I'd like to think so. I'm pretty dedicated once I start and I'm not the type of person to let anything beat me. Obviously you'd need to hear me. I'm no professional (but how many indie singers are) but I do try to push myself by practicing with Coldplay tunes and the like, although thats not for singing reasons only and not a reflection on personal taste. I have had vocal coaching in the past.
  5. Recently split from band which played original material - indie/funk/dance influence. Committed to the right band with original material (no covers please!!) and flexible for practice and gig schedule. Personal influences include, Stone Roses, Charlatans, Doves, Doors but willing to give any material within the indie field a go!! Please reply to me here if interested.
  6. Dead on!! Have to say that must be one of the worst gigs I've ever been to!! Being a huge Brown/Stone Roses fan I was bitterly disappointed but certainly not shocked on Sat night!! Its always a gamble going to see Ian Brown live. But apart from Ian missing many notes the PA at the exhibition centre is pish and I definately wont be splashing the cash in future to see any gigs there. Having said all that Brown was very amusing and I had to laugh when he waved to the crowd - somehow it just didn't seem to match his image!!
  7. Just wanted to thank The Front and The Cellers again for putting on an excellent show at the Lemon Tree on Saturday - it all appeared to go pretty well!! Cheers for having us (The Phoenix Band) along for the ride!! Once we got a replacement string sorted out for our bass it seemed to be o.k. with a lot of good feedback. Although the minor hickup did cut 10 minutes off our set and we were pretty pissed no one could even let us borrow their bass!! Hey-ho! It all turned out fine in the end!! Moyes
  8. The Phoenix Band hit Aberdeen for the first time since the demise of The Ark Royals on 24th January, 2006 at Cafe Drummonds.
