  9. Tonight (8th December) sees the return of the unruly Reverend Obadiah Steppenwolfe III, alongside Carly Baker, Barry McDonald and Billy Kirkwood. It's definitely worth a shout catching these guys! Winner of the 2003 Chortle Award for Best Breakthrough Act and a star of BBC2's Live Floor Show, The Reverend is not your average holy man. With his heavy metal music, black leather, sunglasses and love of hot tub bible classes, he cuts a pretty intimidating figure. A true two-fisted Tennessee trailer-trash TV evangelist, he makes the sinners swing from the rafters. Having managed to offend virtually every religious group and been barred from most places of worship, The Reverend has taken to spreading the word of the Lord on the BBC, as well as around comedy clubs all over the UK. He was a regular on both series of BBC Scotland's Live Floor Show, for which he was nominated for a Scottish BAFTA best newcomer award. His 2003 Edinburgh Fringe show with Frankie Boyle provoked massive, diverse reactions and was simultaneously hailed as the most exciting and original as well as the most offensive and dangerous show on the fringe. This show led to The Rev and Frankie being commissioned to write on the Channel 4 Jimmy Carr vehicle, 'Distraction' and its' subsequent re-commission. 2006 saw The Reverend writing for Channel 4's '8 Out Of 10 Cats' and Channel 4 Radio as well as for BBC TWO's 'Mock The Week'. He stole the show at the Reading Festival, his festival debut, and his Edinburgh Festival Show, 'What Would Charlie Sheen Do?' received 5 star reviews. 'The man is a tornado, a fount of pitch-perfect jokes coupled with quite masterful timing and material that flouts the very laws of censure.........Utterly challenging and well-crafted, it is, of course, howlingly funny.' The Metro 'Laugh? I almost **** myself. Rarely at the festival do you get a) amazing Scottish comedy and b) comedians who can send you into a fit of absolute hysteria for hours - Class. The two comedians from BBC's 'Live Floor Show' appeared laid-back and blas, yet have killer lines and must rank among the best Scottish performers at the festivals. An absolute must-see.' The List, Frankie Boyle & The Reverend Obadiah Steppenwolfe III, 2003 Edinburgh Fringe. Doors 7.30pm Onstage 8.15pm 4adv/5door Pre-Club dinner in the Athenaeum from 5pm (Free entry ticket to Snafu Comedy Club when food is purchased)

  11. MIXTAPE PRESENTS GREEN VELVET // FRIDAY 5TH DECEMBER // SNAFU Curtis Jones AKA Cajmere uses the monkier GREEN VELVET to make his twisted, funk-flecked house and techno music. It was Cajmere that made his musical mark way back in the early 90's when he emerged as the flamboyant, neon green haired Green Velvet to front his mid-nineties dancefloor hits including PREACHER MAN, ANSWERING MACHINE and of course that classic FLASH track, putting himself and his hometown of CHICAGO back on the house music production map. Over the years he has appeared under a host of names doing remix and production work, released 5 albums and still goes on creating those dancefloor monsters such as LA LA LAND and the more recent SHAKE AND POP and in September 2006 created a much acclaimed twisted electronica CD mix for Ministry of Sound. Camera's ready, prepare to flash... ADV TICKETS 15 AVAILABLE NOW HERE, and at Earl of Sandwich, Attic and One-Up in the coming days. GREEN VELVET SNAFU

  13. MIXTAPE PRESENTS VECTOR LOVERS AND LET’S GO OUTSIDE/ SNAFU - FRIDAY 4TH APRIL / 10PM – 3AM / 5 ADV Vector Lovers - From the deliriously frazzled mind of Martin Wheeler comes Vector Lovers, a self-confessed manga mad computer nerd and eighties obsessed knob-twiddler who has produced one of 2007s most irresistible albums with his eponymous Soma debut. The Vector Lovers sound encompasses beautifully emotive electronica and raw alien future funk. Bring on the droids… “Vector Lovers has hit on a sound that’s more relevant than 99% of modern electronic music…inspirational, essential and as much a landmark release as Hacker & Kittens ‘Frank Sinatra’.” Richard Brophy (DJ magazine). Prepare to be transported to the extraordinary world of Vector Lovers. Let’s Go Outside - Stephen Schieberl has produced electronic music for over a decade, taking the mantra “Let’s Go Outside” as his moniker. Residing in Portland, Oregon where he first released on small local experimental label, Buried In Time, he soon moved onto Bradford-based Midnight Recordings before being picked up by Soma shortly afterwards. His discography includes everything from nearly silent ambient to the most destructive of techno, and all which lies between. Let’s Go Outside’s performances borrow from this immense palette to create a form of techno that defies genre. His weird and filthy techno hits you like a rusty chainsaw in the face... in a good way. Advance tickets available from One-Up, Earl of Sandwich, Attic, Retrospect, Snafu and HERE VECTOR LOVERS LET'S GO OUTSIDE
