  1. where did you send them, and did you find true bypass makes a difference? good suggestion on the power supply btw
  2. i was looking at a UB1222FX-PRO. how bad are the effects? whats the reverb like. our vocals are quite , so anything to improve them is needed! how hissy are the smaller ones? tbh the rest of our equipment isnt up to a whole lot, and generates quite a bit of noise. so will the effects noise be neglible? we'd be looking to playing in noisy pubs - with quite a bit of background noise. it is important not to be noisy, but it certainly isnt the same as studio quietness. we have a small 6 behringer channel mixer, and havent found it produces a lot of noise, though it contains no on-board effects or reverb. does anyone know anything about class d mixers?
  3. im looking for a mixer, at least 8 channels with reverb, and on a tight budget. came upon these 2 as the cheapest, with my needs, but was wondering what kind of mixers are they? are there any problems that i should know about, and whats the quality etc. Any info is appreciated!
  4. i had a listen to the clips on the boss website, and am tempted by a blues driver and also an os-2 overdrive/distortion along with some sort of wah. what difference to the sound will getting a custom pedal job do? i've had a look at Stuart's site, but there aren,t any audio clips about the difference's various boards make. the true bypass mod does seem useful though as elsewhere i read that it does affect the sound even when the pedal isnt depressed.
  5. i have a Marshall MG50 DFX which im happy with. however i am thinking about adding to the sound and practicality with some pedals. there are some nice on-board effects, but playing live can be a bother since i'm not able to change sound mid-song, except between clean and overdriven. also a nice overdrive boost for solo's is needed. any ideas? price isnt really an issue, though im quite frugal and like a bargain! i have a behringer v-amp 2, which is a multi-effects box, but find that some of the sounds, and also the delay between effect change isnt up to scratch.
  6. maybe a wee bit harsh alright. Whats the point of putting down words on a page though? a song isnt a song without music...its a poem. i'm sure there are plenty of 'poets corners' littering the net which may be more receptive than here. i rarely listen to lyrics. i mean i might snatch a word here and there, but mainly tis just mumbling along while listening to the melody, or that cool solo or whatever. How many bands write really good lyrics? not too many...metallica's are a bit shite, but the overall package is awesome-usually. u'd be better off writing the melody that goes with it, recording it, and then posting that to see what people think, or how you can improve etc.
  7. i've just found god! he DOES exist!
  8. um...what exactly is sweeping?
  9. looking at what is being said in the forums, it appears that many pepole dont use Marshall amps. i'm not a very experienced guitarist, but i was lead to believe that Marshall amps were a cut above the rest. is this true? or is it just the best of the cheaper range of amps?
