  1. I've had about 3 no shows and 2 shows in the past 18 months from him. When he's on form, it's amazing. Apparently, Edinburgh gig was absolutely fantastic, so fingers crossed for tonight.
  2. Ignore that. The source was a dodgy Swiss interview from a free newspaper. Adam's (drummer) posted a MySpace bullitin (yesterday) saying everything would be fine, having previously been unsure whether the gigs would go ahead.
  3. Because my taste is better than yours.
  4. I would rather smear my testicles in dog food and dangle them over a Peruvian river filled with piranas while peeing into it as those strange little fish swim up my piss and into my urethra before blowing up in a spikey ball to the size of apples, causing me to lose my genitalia than listen to Panic! At The Disco. Or Fall Out Boy, for that matter. And yes, I'm sure they aren't talented musicians; rather band-wagon jumpers who write music for emotionally (and aurally) retarded teenagers.
  5. ...to form band with myself (rhythm guitarist + lead singer) and fellow musician (lead guitarist + backing vocals). Must be keen, dedicated and able to play in time with other musicians. We'll probably start with covers, but I write music too. Influences - Velvet Underground, 1970s New York CBGB punk scene (ie, Stooges, New York Dolls, Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers), 1970s UK punk (ie, The Jam), Sonic Youth, The Libertines and so on. Drop me an email whirlwind.heat.flash@hotmail.co.uk if you're interested. The sooner we get replies the better!
  6. I'm not saying we bottle the cunt. Just boo or ignore or whatever. He;'s not getting a warm reception though.
  7. In case you're interested, this was set up by someone who used to be a huge fan, 'til all the scandalous behaviour came to light http://s12.invisionfree.com/TheDeadcoats/index.php It'll tell you everything you need to know.
  8. People will still go. And I'd love so much to boo him off stage. You have no idea how much I hate him. And anyway, boycotting gigs never works. People will always turn up.
  9. OK I never post here usually, but a friend told me that THE REDCOATS are coming to Aberdeen on April 25th, playing Caf Drummonds. For those of you who are unaware of this band, they are a third rate Libertines-wannabe band. But that's not the point: the singer James Redcoat is a disgusting man. The Redcoats disbanded after he was caught having an sexual affair, outside his relationship with his girlfriend, with a 13 year old girl. He also used to threaten his girlfriend with physical violence and it was reported that he beat her and also beat bandmates. The man also is a faux-poet and thinks he's a bohemian when he's really just a talentless loser with a receding hair line. Furthermore, he tried to promote his band on the BNP's website. Being the naive fool he is, he didn't realise the BNP were a xenophobic, racist party, and his romantic views of Britain (borrowed heavily from a certain Mr Doherty), he thought, co-incided with theirs. Please please please let's give this man a proper Aberdonian welcome and let him know there's no room for paedophilic, woman beating, racist knobs up here. He's a complete dick. I shall be at the gig, along with as many friends as I can get to come to boo the guy off stage. He disgusts me.
  10. Fuck me this is interesting. And yes the local scene is shit. Those bands you labelled are cack. In fact, I havent even heard of half of them and I know they're shit. Love you too. Nah Craig I'm headed to Edinburgh probably. Oh and I have a different email address should anyone else want to get in contact (I've had a few responses now) whirlwind.heat.flash@hotmail.co.uk PS - the X-certs are still shit no matter what you say.
  11. You're all useless. People in Aberdeen only seem to respond if you want to form a "DEFF METAL BAND INFLUENCED BY SLAYER!!!" or a blues band or some wanky X-certs-style band. Christ. No wonder the local scene is so terrible. When was the last time a decent band emerged from Aberdeen that was actually original and not hideously clichéd or talentless? I can't wait to leave this place for Uni in September. I might actually be able to form a proper band then.
  12. Right: I'm 17. I sing and play rhythm guitar. I need a bassist, a lead guitarist and a drummer. I have about a dozen songs written and of course, there's the option of a few covers too. I want to form a serious band. No time wasters please. I want able musicians who can pick up a piece quickly, and help by giving some input concerning song writing. I'm not asking for amazingly talented people, I just want passionate, charismatic musicians. For me, that's more important than any guitar solo. I have a wide range of influences. My songs vary: Libertines style indie gems, clean unplugged stuff, and overdrive ridden rackets like the Velvet Underground and the Jesus and Mary Chain etc. I have no specific "sound". If you're interested, email me or add me on MSN messenger: jimi_hendrix707@hotmail.com I'd idealy like to have a band formed by January time so we can get some rehearsals going. No previous gigging experience is necessary, really, although it would be nice. I just want some committed, dedicated musicians who are enthusiastic about what they do. I look forward to hearing from you.
  13. Sounds good. We had a jam this afternoon and it went pretty well. We're basically going to start off doing covers and build up a repatoire, then move on to writing our own stuff. I'll tell the other guys that you're interested and see what they have to say.
  14. We have a drummer and a bassist now, as well as a rhythm guitarist/singer. It would be good if we could get in touch with a lead guitarist? Preferably of similar age+ influences? We're not wanting Hendrix, we just need a guitarist who can play lead riffs and the odd solo, like Noel Gallagher or Carl Barat, you know?
  15. Have sent you an email.
  16. I play guitar and I sing. I need: One drummer One bassist One other guitarist (who can preferably do some backing/occasional lead vocals and some lead guitar) My main influences are: The Libertines, The Beatles, Oasis and The Velvet Underground. I want to start with covers then we can move on to writing out own material. Fortunately, I can write good music and it would be good if you too had some previous experience in songwriting (especially lyrics). As usual: no time wasters and you must be reasonably good at playing (although no previous gigging experience is necessary). If you're interested, send me an email: jimi_hendrix707@hotmail.com or a.little.death.around.the.eyes@gmail.com Thanks
