Damm im leaving on thursday for good, would have enjoyed this gig. On the subject though, i thought the guitarist from blues band 'The Blue Hyenas' was pretty damm hot when i saw them in the blue lamp.

He sounds interesting, although those short mp3 songs are not really much use, ill definetly check up on one of his albums soonish. Thanks for pointing him out Andy, im always keen on discovering new musicians to listen to.

Mediocre? I would say that in a musical era of copycat bands stealing the glory of the original artists originality, it's been nice to have a solid full on Rock band such as the Foo's, who possess the creativity and talent to keep their music fresh and listenable. Their new albulm just highlights this. Fair enough they will never be in the same league as Guns n roses, or led zep, but then its nice to see that their not trying to be pretentious and produce over the top epics, with cheesy two minute solos blasting out of the now obligatory les paul such as the darkness and my chemical romance, who will never last as long as the foo's. What im trying to say is that Dave Grohll and his buddies know exctly what theyre best at, and are always trying to keep their music fresh even after five albulms. The accomplishment of coming out of Nirvana and actually producing a band of almost equal stature speaks volumes in itself. Long live the Foo's !

The man pionered electric blues and the whole way artists performed on stage with a guitar, regardless of the music they played. The whole concept of a front man, singin with guitar, showing off, in your face etc.. We owe soo much to the hard working guys that pionered that now so common electric sound, i feel far too many people are not aware of the true roots of modern guitar music, such as rock, metal,blues and anything else. Most kids know their good charlotte (dire shite) from their lenny kravitz, but have never heard of players such as T-Bone and Blind Lemon Jefferson. Gotta teach these kids some real music!! Discuss

USA! USA! USA! USA! USA!

I was a bit dismayed to hear Jonny Mac and other commentators talking about the need to change the courts in Tennis for the benefit of the general public's dwindling attention span. It seems silly to drastically change a great game just to attract the less interested members of the public who are only prepared to watch the matches for about half an hour at a time. It seems proposals like stopping players from resting between sets and forcing a player to retire instead of talking a medical time out may please these part time viewers, but would piss off most of the players to no end. Tennis, in my opinion, is perfectly fine as it is, as a player i enjoy watching matches a great deal, and i can respect all the 'delaying' as the mental aspect of the game plays a huge part, its all part of the spectacle. Maybe Wimbledon is a bit too big serve orientated, but then these players dont do as well on other surfaces, especially clay, so it balances out. What does everyone think about this subject?

How do these grades work?? Could you not just choose some reasonably easy song like 'aces high' by Iron Maiden? (Scuse my ignorance)

Ok so most guitarists here have a few guitars, but which is the one you would never sell, and prefer to play over anything else you own? Mine is my 79' custom shop Strat, antigua finish, its well worn but i wouldnt trade it for anything. Although i bought it not knowing it had been upgraded with custom shop pickups

No one's mentioned 'In your Honour' by the Foo's, its a damm fine album.

I just got my factory replacement after discovering my racket was faulty. Its a Head Liquidmetal Instinct, the cheapest price i could find on the internet was 95. Being a factory replacement its brand new, i mean shop condition, the grip is still rapped, the little string dampener is i its bag unopened, the cardboard thing on the strings- NEW. The reason i am selling it is i had to buy another racket while i was waiting for this one to come back from Head, so i bought a Babolat and actually like it alot more. Make no mistake the Head is a great racket, i just prefer my Babolat. Anyway, looking for 85, thats a tenner off for a brand new racket. Also if interested, please pm me for pickup before this Sunday, cant do after then. Cheers, James

What does everyone think about 'In Your Honour' ? I just bought it today, and im very impressed, espescially with the accoustic album, overall their sound is very refined and energetic. I think its much better than 'One by One', and just as good as their previous three, awesome stuff, although i am heavily biased.

I have a Boss V-Wah pedal, in my opinion the best you can buy, but its expensive -90 or therabouts, has a gain setting if thats what you mean by drive. You can also make your own wah sounds and store them, which is fucking awesome, also there are 5 preset effects, including CBY (hendrix style). Great, but expensive, Wah pedal

Didnt the X-certs play their very first gig at Lava? Maybe my memory is deceiving me but thats what i remeber, a good few years ago mind you. It might be nice for Lava to have some live music maybe, like once a month, but then again i havent been there for ages some i dont know what its like anymore. Then again the Lemon Tree and Moshulu all offer this though, wouldnt it be nice to sit in a nice chilled out atmosphere and listen to some live music though? Anyway, sorry, a bit off topic... A rock night might be nice

I just get my hair cut about every two months, only about an inch off at most, but before summer i might get a bit more cut off. My hair is always around eyebrow-length, which is fine for me, actually im getting my hair cut today. In the end, if youre happy with your hairstyle then dont bother about what everyone else thinks, unless you happen to have a very persuasive girlfriend..

Penny seems to have an awesome sense of humour, so i would like to meet her, also Robyn Jenni (whent to my school but cant remember her) Girls not grey, (and some of her friends too!) Also Logan appears to be a sound guy, amusing batman cartoons now in the gallery Prob most people here actually, But really, coversation would be a bit funny saying hi to someone using their user names...

Mettalica is about as heavy as i like, although i do actually own a couple Korn albums.
