  1. I owned one until quite recently. A couple of forums that may be of help: MPC-Samples.com Forums and Rap + Hip Hop engineering & production - Gearslutz.com Hope that helps Colin - and I hope you're getting on well with the new toy. Steven.
  2. UNIT NOW SOLD Thanks Colin - a pleasure doing business with you.
  3. Akai MPC 2500 Sampler/Sequencer 6 months old, occasional home use only, smoke-free environment, condition like new. Original box and manual. Selling I as never "got" the MPC work-flow. 550 If you're interested, contact me via e-mail: steveninkster AT tigerinkmusic DOT com Thanks! Steven
  4. Reason is not a good choice as you cannot record audio. Cubase + a sound card - and there are millions to choose from - would be a good combination. There's a new cut-down version of Cubase just out. For the sound card think about how many mics you want to record at once, whether or not they need phantom power, and how you're going to play back what you're recording. That should help narrow down which card is suitable. Hope that helps! Steven
  5. Colin - I would go to SOS Home and search for whichever instrument you are considering recording - loads of good advice there. Steven
  6. More relating to studio mixing, but I really found these two useful: The Mixing Engineer's Handbook by Bobby Owsinski The Art of Mixing: A Visual Guide to Recording, Engineering and Production by David Gibson Steven.
  7. They look way cool! How do they sound? How do they feel? Also I'm curious - where did you get them? Cheers Steven
  8. I have one and it rocks! I bought it to capture those moments of inspiration and it is very impressive. Four track recording, built-in microphone which gives good results, guitar jack in with incredible guitar FX and amp simulation, built-in drum machine which is very very useful, reverb send, computer connectivity via USB. In my opinion it really is as good as it sounds. The only down-side I can think of is the "record one track at a time" limitation. Search around the web for reviews - Sound On Sound definitely reviewed it (and liked it as I recall). From my perspective it is very highly recommended. Hope this helps! Steven
