  1. Billy Cobham - Funky Thide of Sings Now that's some funky mutha fuckin fusion!
  2. The Prais did play a cracking set with tons of energy. I also managed to catch these guys (http://www.orkestradelsol.co.uk/) play some impromptu gig in the middle of the festival site, which was fantastic. I also managed to see 5 disgusting minutes of - I don't even want to type it - EMBRACE :-( Possibly the worst live singer I have ever heard and I've been to a karaoke night doon the Balaclava. Absolute disgrace.
  3. Tony Williams Jaki Liebezeit Billy Cobham
  4. Steve Hillage is playing!!! http://www.thewickermanfestival.co.uk/stages/lineup.html
  5. I have a couple of MP3s - PM me your email address and I'll send them on
  6. Anyone know of this band and in particular their (self titled) debut album? They were a jazz/blues trio comprising of Saxophone, Bass and Drums who used to jam at an old pub located out on the moors in North Yorkshire. The album was made in the early 70's and intended for regulars of the pub but eventually made its way into the public eye. It is a truely unique and awesome album filled with stunning musicianship and amazing interplay. Let me know your thoughts...
  7. Erm nope - posting from work the noo but I live in Aberdeenshire. I'm reading this thread and can't believe some of the bands I've missed that played Aberdeen: Gong (even if they were poor, would've been an experience) and Soft Machine (is this true? hard to believe - can someone confirm?), Focus (damn, damn, damn why did I miss this), Ozric Tentacles (see Focus). Are there other past greats who have graced Aberdeen? I did manage to see Hawkwind a couple years back. Maybe I don't want to know, this kicking myself thing is starting to hurt!
  8. I really like Gong (I also like drinking tea) - 'Angels Egg Volume 2' and 'You' are excellent albums full of wacky English humour and great musicianship. Is anyone here into the Canterbury scene in general? I'm really digging bands such as Caravan, Hatfield & the North and Matching Mole just now.

  10. The Jimi tribute was a disgrace. Slow, dull and mediocre. Everything Jimi wasn't.
  11. Fit like i'm part of a new band called CAPTAIN FACE. We've been on the go for about a year and done a handful of gigs around Aberdeen. Here are a couple of MP3s from a live recording done at Tom's, any feedback appreciated. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/2/captainface_music.htm Cheers
